If your think today was bad, yesterday was like watching almost the entire ASB hit the wall.
So many guys trying hard to make it out of pocket, and getting owned.
Sucks!

And BH might have some open spots for ASB V . (to early for that joke?)

Anyways,
the course is actually pretty fucking cool. (IMO).
Its also just very difficult and takes ALOT of balls.

Instead of a nice even drift to start like Irwindale, Its a straight line 90mph entry.
You then start your drift and get some good angle, while scrubbing speed and almost no change of direction happens at this point.
Then you slowly push that throttle down and start to match the line of the plastic barriers . Problem is, at the deepest part of your drift the cement barriers start, and at a 90 degree angle to the way you were coming in. AND THEY WANT YOU A FOOT FROM THIS !!!
So there was some really amazing stuff a couple of the pros did. But the Pro Am guys did really amazing at such an advanced course. cause this set up is no joke.

Justin hit that tire wall going so fast I think it may have lifted all four wheels! I thought he was gonna be pretty hurt after seeing such a gnarley crash, but then the guy tries to re-enter the track and the officials have to stop him!! lol

Ahh OK, no I meant the cars are suffering in the heat. Overheating problems! Hopefully they'll get it sorted :). Apparently taking the hood vent off reduced the temps loads (they were off the clock on the first 2 runs). Running without a hood wasn't aloud.

Well if the kid is brought up into racing at a young age and wants to get into drifting why wouldn't you let him. It's on a closed track so why wouldn't you let a tallented driver do it? at least its not another nick hogan lol

you can enter events at like 14 i think. aslong as your parents are ok with it. The kid has skills. it not like he is some punk kid that gets everythign handend to him then he just puts it in the wall.

Its easy, there a re a lot of people that are just naturally good drivers. Being an instructor at local events I get people that have never tried drifting (even street), but by the end of the day they are better than people that have been trying for over a year...

Add on people who used to kart and understand driving and line and speed. Also who said you can't drive till you get your license...

Bill Sherman still had the best line all day. His first run was amazing.
When you go today, look at the tire marks along the back of the first corner, especially by the plastic wall part under the screen.
His are the ones that stand along about a foot off the wall and 3 feet from everyone elses.

must be nice to have parents who would be very supportive at a early age , probably funded majority of it since i cant imagine a 16 year old having a very competitive car on their own to start off with. But not surprised of youth skills, all Formula 1 and professional racing drivers start from gokarts. Again- parents who are supportive. Im jealous lol

The glass from Jordans car shattered all the way to the grand stands. Reason why he crashed was because he wanted to try and clutch kick that turn instead of ebrake. Turned out pretty bad =\

And Matt(Vigil) broke both axles when he spun out with Jordan then his ECU was shorting out. So he didn't get many runs in. Outside Family didn't have such a great day. Heres some pictures I took of Jordan right before the run and after the run.

I was there Friday and Saturday working for City Tire.

Every 5 mins I would look up on Friday and see the "Emergency Hooker" tow truck with someone's crashed up car on the bed.

Shit was sad.

Seeing car after car coming into the pit area just fucked up.

But just goes to show the dedication all the drivers had when it came to giving it their best shot.

Lots of out of towners came and gave it their all.

I will be trying to fix Matt's wheel and see what happens.

Met so many nice and dedicated people.

Yeah I would have to agree that Rado is a really nice guy. I thought he would be a total douchebag but he's actually a very cool guy.

yeah, I was in stand #2. The angle you got looks mellow compared to the more forwards angle I had. I wanna see better footage cause I am sure his wheels lifted off the ground.

i have the gold S13 and its fine. im not gunna fix it till after ASB because i plan to hit people. Same with Matt and Cody. Matt just needs a few suspension pieces and fix a wheel. no biggie. And matt's crash was in he finals so he still got 2nd place behind Quoc Ly.

i lost 3rd gear (had to run in 4th) when i ran with matt in the semi finals, and he kicked my ass... he was driving great! i would have had to run against aaron (blue ls1 s13) for 3rd place, but he crashed in the semi finals. so i ended up in 3rd.

i noticed. i didnt get a media pass. so i was on course side while you guys were in the meeting. all of us along the side thought it was rediculous that there was no media for pro am.
