Hey, I am going to a guy who does custom exhaust tommorrow to check out what he has to offer. I've never gone to a shop looking for custom exhaust quality. So I was wondering what kind of questions to ask. I know find out what kind of bends they use crushed or mandrel but what else? Its kinda short notice but I forgot about it until now. Thanks

You'll need to find out if they have made high-performance exhaust, or just loud/replacement exhausts. Also... how many were imports? I'd personally ask if anyone has dyno'd their car with the custom exhaust.
Then ask about price. If the piping and muffler are close to $350.. you should really just think about getting a $400 mandrel bent exhaust from a company (Trust, Apexi, 5Zigen, ect.)

try find out if he is gonna just bend the pipes himself or do mandrel bends and weld. This place in Hawaii does the bends themself and just copy the stock exhaust layout. I think going through a companies exhaust is better, you get mandrel bends and the layout is sometimes changed to a more straight design. Plus the price comes out about the same, just you have to install ureself.
I just want to save to get the JIC 505 system...and no sense I get that till have I get a SR or some really good engine. So I not getting exhaust kind of stuff for a hwile.

Hey, Well i went there and its pretty much the stock pipe with a muffler on it. They also do crush bends anyhow. He quoted me at $279 with no resonator and just a stainless muffler and $293 for one with a resonator and a flowmaster. I decided to just wait and buy one from a company since its only a bit more. Thanks for the help.
