yeah it is a nice car. my mate got it mot'd and taxed yesterday. he came over my workshop in it today and we went out for a spin after we fitted some new splitfire coilpacks.
its bloody fast and its not even running full boost yet. its running 1 bar boost and 430hp. its going back to the tuner on the 22nd for another map and on the rollers. the tuner said it should make around 560hp at 1.4 bar of boost.
it spins the wheels in 1st 2nd and 3rd gears really easy and go's sideways whenever you want it to.

on the dyno it had a bad misfire at 5000 rpm and an air leak. it made 430 hp at 1 bar of boost. air leak and misfire now sorted. tuner reckons he'll get 560hp out of it next week

theres quite a bit of ground clearance on the gt kit. can get over speed humps quite easily. don't think you would have any problems with it as a daily driver. unless your car is slammed on the deck
yeah thats the external wastegate pipe coming out the wing/fender. sounds awsome

i know of a company over here that imports them in to england. he may import them over to the US if he gets enough interest. there really good quailty. when i fitted my mates kit it only need very small amount of work to fit spot on.

look on srbpower.com thats were my mate got his from

Actually I don't really care about the price. Not that I'm a baller, it's just that I'd rather save up a little longer for something nice than buy shit, especially when I have my eye on something specific. Thanks for being a douchebag though, it's well appreciated! :goyou:

Thanks for the advice Garry, that's very encouraging. And no my car's not super low nor will it ever be. Right now it's stock suspension but even lowered I'm not gonna go nuts. Gotta keep it reasonable.

the screamer pipe is in a BADASS location :) I think the wing doesnt fit well with the aero, it needs a GT wing to complete the look.

what are you all doing with interior?

we live near portsmouth on the south coast of england. theres some nice roads about and some private land we can use for having some fun.
just got in from playing around in the car and its fast as hell. 80mph in 3rd and it just lights up the rear tyres and takes off. can't get much traction in 1st or 2nd. it drifts lovely round round some nice winding bends.

can't wait to get my car back on the road now:2f2f:

burnsauto

like what?

If any of these things were fixed, I apologize, I only went about 12 pages into the build.

-taking the time to paint the engine bay, but not fixing the giant, gaping holes where the battery tray and fuse box used to reside. I understand you need the space to run intercooler piping, but nothing hacked up like that

-The screamer pipe. This just comes down to my personal preference, plus I'd love to see how that paint on the fender wears after a few years of all that heat. I was never a fan of screamer pipes, and this just just takes the cake.

-Shitty air filters. Foam filters are some of the worst ones you can buy.

-Crappy welds on the downpipe

-Intercooler piping that's composed of mainly silicone hoses, along with the routing of the piping on the hot side, I never liked it when I saw piping run off the turbo near the strut tower.

-The back lexan windshield. A no-no on a street car.

-The tow hook poking through the hood.

**The next statement is my opinion, and mine alone. I don't expect any of this to be read as the end all be all. It's my personal view based upon my own observations.**

Visually overall the car lacks flow. Granted the paint work is decent, and there are decent touches here and there, but when you open up things like the engine bay... visually it's a mess. Polished bits, Newly painted parts sitting next to parts that could've used a matching respray/polishing. Nothing really matches. The key parts are there, and are good quality for the most part, but it doesn't seem like the person who built it took the time to visually plan out the engine build.

Granted I may just be picky, but I see no problem in being that way.

I do congratulate him though on all the hard work and wrench time he put into the car. It seems to be something he really enjoys and at the end of the day, that's what it's all about.

garryr32gtst
11-17-2008, 01:31 PM
everyone has there own opinion of the car. thats how he wanted it to look so as long as he's happy with it then thats how its staying for now.

he has been thinking about painting it again sometime next year. not sure what colour though. think it maybe black.

i like the screamer pipe. im fitting one to my r32 out of the fender. all the intercooler pipe work is going to be changed for hard pipes soon.

Hmm the only think I don't like about it are the stretched tires and I would have picked a little darker red personally. Also, I'd opt for an LS1 or 1UZ over an RB, but other than that, perfect!

And you're tight too, that kit does actually seem to have a fair bit of clearance. I don't see it being so low as to cause issues, especially since I have a flat driveway with no curb.

Although rad, this is like the 4th European s-chassis build I've seen with a red/black color scheme. What gives?

One was trying to replicate the nissan jgtc cars.

And this one replicates the uras gt car that advertises this kit which is available in the usa so there is no worrying about finding someone to import it, it's a matter of having the money to buy it.

Secondly I don't like the fenders at all, my personal opinion and I think the wheels are too big for the car. They kind of look rediculous, plus I hate gold wheels with a polished lip. Especially on a red car, it looks like a mcdonalds mobile. Maybe if they were black too and ran with the color scheme of the car it would look better.

Also the headlight buckets would look better in some kind of carbon fiber overlay sticker or something rather than being gloss black. But in general I just hate cars with multiple tones going on. It's a sweet car and a sweet bill and i'm not trying to take away from that at all.

Just not the direction I would go.

in short he cant afford it either

the main exhaust exits on the drivers side in front of the rear wheel so you don't get no fumes from that and you don't get no fumes from the screamer pipe either.
i've been out in the car with the windows down and you can't smell any exhaust fumes which i was surprised at:D

Hardly. I had well thought out, organized reasons of why I didn't like the car. Hating is based off jealousy, and I already have a built car, so I have no reason to be jealous. Just because someone dropped a good amount of bank on something doesn't mean I have to like it. I do like some key parts of the car, but overall... it just doesn't do it for me. :wan:

had the car back on the dyno for final map. it made 509bhp at 1.4 bar and 429lbft torque.
the ride home was good. has to be one of the quickest cars i've been in.
on the way up to have the car mapped we were doing 90mph and he put it in 3rd gear and it just smoked the rear wheels then took off. now its been mapped again it is unbeleivablely quick. you've only got to touch the throttle and its off. needs a bit of weight in the rear now to help with the traction.

there was another s13 there as well that was running a sr lump and that made 583hp at 1.75 bar of boost. bloke spent thousands on the engine.
the tuner that set my mates car up also did the sr one as well and said my mates car is much quicker on the road. he also mapped the cars on the road as well.

we fitted some nismo stripes on the car the other day aswell. think they look quite smart. i'll see if i can find a pic of it with the stripes on.
