Man Finally they get on board....
Well I have Megans right now and I ain't going to lie, but finally they stepped up for accessories for it.
Two of the main accessories is:
offering different spring rates for their coilovers and just selling springs by themselves for custom setup. 4kg, 6kg, 8kg, 10kg, 12kg, 14kg... I dunno how good they are, but its a good thing....
http://www.meganracing.com/uploadImage/regular/DSC03759x8.jpg
and offering an extended coilver bottom mount bracket to allow more clearance for the rims so the perch sits further under the car...

That is awesome!!!
I didn't know this till today... hopefully not a repost.....

now if people didnt talk out of their ass. they come off the same assembly line as a'pexi, greddy, hks, etc. BC makes coils for lots of companies, just to the companies specs. But I wouldn't call them knockoff.

Why not just hold your comments on that as it doesn't help the thread.... Why not bitch at the people who run Freddy Manis or Freddy Oil Pans, or all the BS stuff out there.... MR offered something pretty good back then 2 - 3 years ago. Hence keep going with blasting the forum with your useless comments... Thanks go home...

I find the whole bottom bracket thing to be, "different" Haven't heard much about it. But then I never had to worry about that. They should've made a running change and included that bracket while offering current owners the option to upgrade.

Where are your sources?

^^^ Yah the bracket IS different.... Maybe they can come as an option... Run higher offset wider rims, but still tucked under stock fenders would be pretty awesome.... Helps the 4luggers a little....

he's actually right. they do make coils for alot of other well known companies. sources are gonna be hard to come by because alot of companies will not be willing to divulge who manufactures their shit.
BC Racing has been out for about 10 years, 2 years in the US, actually have their own research and development department, team up with huge manufacturers in japan to get their shit straight. and now have their own line of coils.. (which look secksi btw.)
i own megans... i hate them... but at least megan stepped up their game to make options. i wouldnt call them knock offs though.

^^^ Truthfully, I would like stance, or more truthfully I would luv to have some Motons, JRZs or Even Tein HR's.... But you know what? its 3 times the price and seriously I didn't know enough about suspension on cars during the time nor had the money. Stance wasn't even out back when I got these....
With that said, doesn't mean I dunno about suspension as I raced motorcycles in AFM and CCS.... So I know suspension setup, but Megans are a great baseline especially when I run in AutoX's, but I have Track Series - Dunno much about Street. But as a starter at the time, they were awesome and I still don't have too much complaints...

They have offered that lower bracket for a long time.
and cheap coilover springs are a dime a dozen.

I was thinking about changing my spring rate on my megans, but Swifts new are REALLY expensive, but its just like a monitor, I can use them for awhile even after the shocks blow. Stance coils better?
And if it is any consolation, MR Track Coils Preloaded with 3 turns feels really good.... Makes them slightly more linear in feeling.... I think..

Just don't forget rule of thumb is +2kg or -2kg when it comes to changing coilover springs
If you go beyond that range I would suggest revalving to match the specs of that spring
Which unfortunately is not possible for Megan, so if you're going to change spring rates just stay within 2kg
Anyway, you shouldn't go lower than a 6kg/4kg combo anyway on a S chassis with coilovers (if you want it softer than that might as well just go shock spring combo)
And if you want to go higher than 10kg/8kg for sake of racing, then I would suggest changing to higher level brand coilovers to match the nature of what you want to do

My experiences while talking to Autobacs members and affiliates are along the same lines that megans are produced by the likes of BC. Its kind of like lexus=Toyota..infiniti=Nissan. While they are two seperate entities, they are one in the same.
That being said, their are always better options. Parts are made available and cater to many different budgets. Find one that fits your budget.
As regards the topic at hand, the bottom mount brackets have been around for awhile, but I'm glad you found out! Perhaps this new knowledge will assist you in the future when you have further mods you want to accomplish on your car.
Take care!

Thanks!
I AutoX a lot, and 12/10's are perfect for AutoX.... I DD on those too for MR Tracks... But for going to the track in the next month, particulary 12/10 is not going to work because of lack of feed back to the front end. I was thinking closer to 10/9.... I think that would be a perfect setup to get more feedback, while staying planted in the rear....
One thing is 12/10 would be ok if I were running slicks all around, but I am thinking staying balanced for my first trackday on the car and doing StarSpecs 225's F and Kumho MX 255's on the rear.... Hence 10/9 would be awesome feel....
Been AutoX'ing a bit, but thanks on both Aspec and Your input!!

Can't say anything bad about Megan coilovers personally. Mine have been daily driven on for almost three years now, with the fronts preloaded and the rears bottomed out and drooped, and they're still going strong.

Wonder if you could use those lower seats for Koni Yellows.
SOMEONE TRY IT!

Wouldnt you loose amount of negative camber adjustment with those bottom brackets?

Yes.
No thanks on that.
Just don't run sucky sizes and offsets and the wheels won't rub, haha.

Thats what I was thinking.....I'm trying to work out the geometry in my head, but I havent had my coffee yet, so my brain is dead....
Also, the picture of the springs above look like to be eibach linear springs (part numbers look similar), which have been out for ages....

It depends on the upper hole, it could be slightly offset to make up for the difference.

If you want to pull out more camber with brackets alone, you would need to offset the holes on the bracket
Endless has something they call a "hyper bracket" which has offset holes which pulls out more camber to begin with
But whatever though
Even with a straight up and down bracket you should be able to adjust to more than required camber for a S chassis, regardless of how low

I pretty much use 0 camber in the rear and -0.5* in the front.... I like to modulate a little more with the rear and torque.... eh.... people's setup is different from mine and purposes.... oh wellz....

you should try running more negative offset in the front, if you do auto-x.
The difference is amazing.

Depends on size of tire I am running on 225's, I think its ok... But if I am running 235's all around yes I would run a lot more offset....

Is it just me or does the part number on that spring look like an eibach part number? It would make sense, if you are buying in bulk I bet eibach's are retarded cheap.
EDIT: Yes I know that those numbers are actually the spring dimensions, but eibach does it the same way I think.
