ok this is a SR long block that needs a rebuild its a black top and it compression tests out at 150 150 150 50 i.e. it went lean on #4 cylinder . we have decided just to replace the whole engine hence its up for sale $550 takes it away . its located in socal

is this a black top with the vvt hump or one of the s13 ones that didnt have the hump?

no pics right now, its just coming out of the car . it looks pretty normal from the outside . We know it blew during a race and it seems like a rocker spun and broke a valve shim. It also went lean.
oh word out for all people who are doing SR swaps fuel pump upgrade is strongly recommended this person did not do the fuel pump upgrade and was running his stock fuel pump.

ouch, it probally had detonation then? it would need new oversize pistons then? not just a hone and re-ring? with he spun rocker and stuff will it need a new head? and if so will any red top head work, or does it need a s13 blk top head?

well its still running . albeit not great but running #4 cylinder has 50lbs . i doubt it needs oversized pistons it probably does need a cylinder hone but you will not know till you tear it down. Of course your going to put new rings in if your going to buy it to rebuild. Also, just because it spins a rocker does not mean it needs a new head. Also until we pull the valve cover which I will probably check out tomorrow we are just theorizing on what exactly happened.

shit man it was like 4 years lol. someone got a little to excited for a dipstick
