I think if you are going to add such a feature. In order for you to slap you have to attach a reason for slapping. And you can only slap once a day. And you also have to attach the link to post in order to slap.

I think the Digg style system would work better (also used on youtube). Where you can vote and individual post Up/Down and if it gets voted down enough its collapsed. I've seen other vB forums that have this.

Sure, people abused the rep system, but it kept people in check. (to an extent) I miss the days when people were afraid to start new threads and make stupid pointless posts, without first spending hours scouring the site to see if the answer could be found in some long-since-forgotten thread, because if they did a line of post-whores waiting for n00b-fail's would inevitably form to shove the link so far up their e-hiney, they'd be gagging on it.

Oh, and the problem with having a system like this that is ran exclusively by moderators and administrators is they're stretched thinly enough as it is without adding yet another unneeded responsibility to their workload. (I can only imagine how quickly their inboxes fill up with post reports)

You would get slapped because some people may not share the same opinion or views as you, and thats not really a good reason to give it to someone. Instead, you should be able to debate it out on the forums, but if you start arguing on zilvia, threads get locked
