Z31's have a lot of potential just not commonly modded.

I looked into it:
-Awesome brake options from the factory
-Came with a RB in some jap models
-has 510/Dime Suspension in the back
-made a Datsun Version before the name change

Me I would like a Z31 with a SR20det. but thats just me. I Would sleep in it at night. Much love for the Z.

^^^^ Yeah butters defenitly did. I have an 86, working on getting the front end right now. The hard part is finding a good lip. And dont get me wrong, If i had it my way id probally have an s30 too, but z31s can be done right

i really wonder why we don't see them on the track more. I just dont get it? maybe some sort of limiting factor i dont know about. They look really nice with widebody/ flares, Etc.

I've never seen one done right, but I have been spanked by one on the freeway (not in my current car, this was back when I had a mk4 GTI). Eh ~ they're aiight. Definitely dated, no reason to own one over a z32.

it's getting more and more popular for Z31 guys to swap out S13/S14 Suspsion setups. pretty crazy.

Z31's fail for this reason. Trailing Arm Rear Suspension makes this car as "nimble" as a Mustang or Comaro.

Destined for failure off the production line.

"Swapping" to S series subframe is next to an impossible feat for 99.999% of people out there, believe me it is a nightmare of fabrication work making it pointless to start modding the car when you could go S30/Z32/S series from the get go.

To me this is a prime example of a car you either really love or you really hate. It has to be done just right or they just look like ass.I saw an rhd fairlady z31 a while back and it was magnificent. Paint was flawless. Stance was like a bull dog and it just commanded respect. Sadly the norm seen driving about is the light poop brown variety that don't do Z31s justice.

My first car was an 88 Z31, and I loved the shit out of that car. One thing for sure about it though is that is does take a LOT more effort to modify, a lot of Z31 owners are older guys who do a lot of their own fabrication.

I love the Z31, Ill never forget my first terrifying experience in my Uncle's z31 TT..Going over a huge bridge and all of the sudden loosing all brake pressure..trying to put my seatbelt on but couldnt get it to come loose..Oh lovely. Luckily he downshifted us to a stop..

So it seems the general consensus is that you can make them look good but not handle good Easily. I mean hell, you can custom fab an s13 suspesion onto a mustang if you had the means.

I don't think I've EVER found a car I like from every angle. There's always one picture or angle that I find, to at least a small extent, I don't like. *shrug

Even my Z32 I think looks like ass from certain angles. Others it looks damn amazing... Even stock.

I like the early aniversary 2 tone turbo models for some reason.. they are rare imo
