I just swap a red top s13 into my 93 240sx and i know stock boost run at 7 psi. my question is can i run more boost? i have some upgrade on the car. ebc, front mount, intake just a cone, eblow upgrade, downpipe and exhuast, turbo manifold, 255 fuel pump. i have wideband but can't see it so i would have to have my friend drive my car tommorow to see if it lean out or rich. my wideband reading is at 13.7 to 14 on idle now. so just wondering without a tune how many psi i can run?

you can run 10psi all day no problem. 12 is fine too, 14 is max, I would not pass that. And you have a wideband so just crank up the boost and watch for lean-ness.

after 15 psi, the t25 is out of its efficiency range.

Umm... IDK if anyone hasn't told you this, but SR20DET motors are naturally aspirated. LOL
You can't run any "PSI" at all.

Oh and your A/F is rich if its that high.
SoguRacing
11-09-2008, 11:17 PM
actually, his afr's are just right. a higher number would indicate a lean value and lower a rich value. 14.7 is stoich so he's fine.

Sweet so at full boost at 10-14 psi, he should shoot for 14.7 since its stoich? :duh:
To the OP, if your gonna push your car to 10 psi and you have a wide band, data log it. Just so you can make sure you dont have any lean spots. Just starring at the the damn wide band gauge and looking at numbers wont give you the whole picture of what your engine is doing.

he said at idle. those numbers are fine for idle.

yea idle is totally different than under boost. tune is completely fine for 10psi, I ran my sr like that for almost a year, getting beat on at track, daily driving, whatever, it took it fine. I almost guarantee you wont get any lean spots at 10psi, but heck, if you got the wideband data log that shit to be sure.
but most of all, you HAVE to remember, this is very important........
go have fun with more power! weeee!!!

Considering that stock boost with the boost solenoid (which you probably don't have unless you foraged it from a front clip) is 11 pounds, you'll be more than fine at 10.

Come man.... each setup is different.... Stock 240s at 7 psi is like what 180 on a redtop... ooo another magical number? But come on these numbers are like super ball park. Cause it depends how good the motor is and bla bla bla tuning stuff like that....
14PSI come on !ZAR! DO EEETTTTT... its not like he was running 64psi on it like the first guys in the thread... That is baller status...

Keep it on the track.
Canyons are for posers that are to embarressed to come out and learn on the track. (shut up Kyle/soreballz :) )
If you wanna actually learn to grip or drift your car, come to one of the 626DRIFT events. I will personally teach/instruct you if you show up.:bigok:
And If you can outrun me on HTM in a grip battle, with your SR20 and sweet canyon skillz, vs., my SOHC and track skills, i will buy you lunch too:2f2f: :)
no canyon talk on the forum either.

why do people waste their time flaming if you want to give an answer do so, but dont be immature and flame someone just because he doesnt know the answer to it. Sure there is 1,000,000,000,000 threads on this subject but give him a break, everyone was a noob at one point in their life.

Noobs will live and learn. Its a learning process for all of us. About your sr20det 10psi off of a BC should be no problem other mods i would recommend that SR's respond to very well are intake and 3 inch DP and exhaust. Dont switch turbo manifolds or you will loose some bottom-end
