No, never been pulled over. It actually had a bad exhaust leak because the cat broke so it sounded like a rotary and the number 3 on the ka wasn't firing because the plug seal broke and it was full of oil so it idled like it had stage 4 cams lol.

Funny enough running a straight pipe from the turbo back is actually quieter on the sr, it's the turbo that's loud as fuck (from driving the 13 around with it.) Also I was driving around without a front end on the car since May and not even a dirty look from a cop. They only pull over the super rice cars or honda's unfortunately.

But it doesn't mean they wont pull you over. Also I wont be driving the car on the streets with unpainted aero, it's still on jack stands at the moment. I'll update the thread with my findings this weekend.

You need the SR20 ECU pinout? I pin-to-pin'd it years ago, but it looks a lot like my lower harness diagram lol... this is from the ECU to the engine, not interior plug:

6) 1-conductor temp sensor
14) +12v ign switched power (7.5A)
15) +12v for clock
17) tach sensor - higher voltage = higher rpm
24) fuel gauge signal - from pins 1 to 4 on the fuel gauge, 5ohms @ full, 80ohms @ empty
25) VSS - pin 1
26) VSS - pin 2
40) gnd

seems to make sense, this believe it or not is helpful for identifying plugs on the sr harness. I dunno where that ignitor chip stuff is though, i'll have to check the s13 for it as I left the harness disconnection duties up to my little brother when we yanked it.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant the back of the bumper. As in not the front of the front bumper, but the back side. To see how deep it is and mounting points and such. Not something you normally see in build threads. :)

Is it all fiberglass? It seems scary to have straight fiberglass that low to the ground. Plus it seems like the mounting points could be ripped off pretty easily in the case of a small tap against a sidewalk or curb or something.

I guess you could take a look at avante's car and see how low he is, and however he does it, his kit has survived. Vertex is built a bit thinner than most kits so it has some give and play in it.

Nob's drift soarer ate a wall at a d1 event and the front bumper survived it, so it cant be that bad. You can almost see through certain area's of the aero and other area's it's pretty solid.

The fenders don't even use all of the supplied stays and such and they're rock solid once all of their drilled mounting holes are used, so i dont see a point in drilling holes for the other ones they left out.

They most likely left them out for a reason.

Vertex isn't knock-off crap. It's what gets knocked-off because lame cheap skates don't want to pay for REAL parts.

The bumper I had wasn't exactly knock off though. I think it was just prepped wrong and put up wet, so to speak. The bloody thing cost $500 new and this was 4-5 years ago.

Very true! My last project had a LOT of time and effort in it, and fitment was spot on. It was a dream to not only work on myself, but when it had to go in for tuning or other work, they loved the ease of getting to everything:

yeah i'm over new cars, i mean it was cool to have a new car but it's totally a buzzkill when it comes down to getting mods for it and tinkering with them, smog laws more strict.

I do my part and recycle and i'm green to balance out the pollution my non egr, non cat having death trap ozone layer depleting car produce lol.

Anyway enough chatting for now, I got a box of goodies from FRSport that just arrived at the house, and I got some shit to do tonight...

Engine
-replace spark plugs
-replace front and rear main seals
-add circuit sports intake manifold gasket (because my sr was not running one period)
-add 7 layer s15 exhaust gasket (because my sr was not running a gasket here period)
-add chain tensioner gasket (have oil spatter on the front of my engine looks like thats where it's coming from)
-got some circuit sport pulleys for the car. Would've gotten Greddy but since i'm stripping them down and getting them re-coated I didn't want to ruin them.
-got a sweet d1 hks oil cap for my valve cover which will match my car's color scheme. (now to order colored vacuum hoses) HAHA J/K
- mount shortblock in car when done so I can measure the engine harness wires to see where I need to cut so I don't end up with 3ft of ECU wires I do not need, plot out the wires.
- Re-pin junctioned wires and get measurements for heat sleeving i'll need for the maf since im going to run that around the engine like in the diagram I posted earlier but I will bolt it to the frame rail.

Transmission
- replace throw out bearing
- degrease that bitch and brush it down
- switch out the speed sensor with my KA speed sensor, not that I think this matters since I'm going to run a stack cluster and you can program it to read km/h or mph. Neither bother me as my old car had km/h on it's display.

Electrical
- Stare at my engine harness some more, and cry.

The harness laid out above is still for RHD, keep that in consideration (I'm sure you will).

Please take some notes on front main seal replacement - I'm sure it's as easy as it looks, but I'm gonna have to do that on mine real soon, and any tips would be nice!

Also, final measurements from firewall grommet to plugs for your connectors - especially if you're tucking everything. I didn't do that last measurement, and some of my stuff is off by an inch or two... not a huge thing, but I want the next harness I do to be perfect!

You're asking me if that's what's on it or suggesting I should put one on the car. I'm not entirely too sure what the roof spoiler is, was thinking of ditching it for d-max. Still up in the air if I want a D-Max Hood for the car or a BN-Sports hood. (completely un-related, price sort of pays a factor since i'm painting it.) Either way it will be something authentic...

Yeah I used one of those too for the parts I couldn't get with the 4" wire wheel, but I didnt have a pic :) Certainly helps for those areas where just engine cleaner doesn't do the trick, and you'd prefer not to spend a month in there with a nylon brush.

I wired my wipers according to that guide that's up somewhere, and it didn't work for me. I guess the plugs for are different for 1995 wiper motors (same colors though). Now I'm just having fun with running stuff behind the dash since I pulled most of my body harness out.

I totally rewired that lower harness and fuse box nonsense, I think you'll end up hacking it up no matter what just because of the difference in how the S14 KA and S13 SR do their lower harnesses.

Alright, since i'm a visual learner and I need to find out what the fuck everything is and where it's going I decided on the bright idea of taking the harness and laying it down in the engine bay so I can mark all of the sensors. I have this nice diagram on how to lay the harness out (for cleanliness and nothing more.)

Basically I checked off what I found, everything else at the moment seems to be a mystery. I apparently don't and never did have an eccs plug on my harness, and well I have a couple of other problems at the moment... I don't think they're that major as I have a spare harness I can use for extra connectors and what not. And I still have everything on my s13 in case I need to pull plugs, since I do believe I cut stuff from a relax box on that car to pull the harness due to janky wiring.

So here is my AIT (Air Intake Temperature) wires, which if I am correct this plugs into the downpipe elbow on the back end of the turbo, which has a bolt holding a penny in place. Apparently that is some trick to block that plug as it's not used and was not used before on my engine.

They kept the wires in-tact, but if I am not using this system I may remove it from the ecu pin back. Doesn't look like it was tied into a relay for signal, I'll read up more on this later.

Oh I found out what the mystery plug was.... ghetto fan controller and gm/ford fan and shroud on the big radiator. I may re-do this wiring or just buckle down and get a fan speed controller and do this over from scratch, cause that shit is not going on my car.

Since I was pulling this mess apart to see what is what, it still boggles my mind why in the fuck the knock sensor wire is almost 5 feet long when it's one of the first things that you can plug up straight from the grommet, and already has that stupid extension from the knock sensor itself... going to have to make this WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY shorter.

Godamn drift cars... (note to self, run engine under covers on both cars. I am not going to enjoy cleaning that shit. But needless to say the motor mount thing fell short once I realized that the bolts were stripped, I seriously thought I had knocked it loose, and instead I just I was just running my wrench along the round part for 5 minutes like an idiot... lol Now I remember why I bought stripped bolt removers... mine are stripped on the s14 too. Apparently this is a problematic bolt to get back on your car. (when you don't tq it to factory spec and over-tighten aka strip it.)

And yeah while i'm talking about bolts, all of the bolts on my exhaust manifold are different, and the washers are all different sizes or doubled up home depot washers, that kind of bothers me, then I looked at new bolt and stud and washer kits... 150 bucks... yeah it doesn't bother me that much anymore. *sigh*

*shudder* I forgot I have to take you apart too... I just want to drive already, does anyone else feel like this when they have project car's or a CAR!

The SR20 ECU maybe... I dunno much about them emissions wise since my sr20 doesn't have emissions shit on it.

The KA24DE on the other hand was from my 240sx which is a 96 buddy, it has 2 02 sensors so that should answer your question about emissions. I'm doing a full egr removal on that car as well.

It's higher up in the build thread... but the link I provided for the roof swap is only viewable to members of vrt...

In a nutshell the car is a base model that did not come with a sunroof, one of the original owners of the car took it to some shop down in san diego that does sun roof installs on cars that didn't come with them...

so they hacked up the roof and put in a sun roof...

down the line jdm ricer boy got a hold of the car and had the roof plugged and a shitty unsafe job done to it, lathered 2 gallons of bondo on the roof to cover up the bad welding job where they warped the roof skin panel.

then fast forward, I buy the car and wash it...

downhill from there.

water got in the bondo somehow, the bondo then separated from the metal and started to spider, and just started breaking, so I sat with a chisel and chipped a majority of it off to see how bad it was, and just buckled down and bought a new roof skin from nissan and all of the brackets yada ya. If I knew Crimson Rockett was going to buy an s14 and butcher the fuck out of it I would've saved my money and got that roof skin off of him. =(

lol thanks, for the cell phone picture of your guide, it was pretty helpful in finding stuff and then going WTF! lol the color guide helped a lot too for the sensors I couldn't find.

15 isn't used on the motor though, and 12... is that a boost controller you installed, i don't happen to have that plug on mine.

I know my motor is running 10lbs of boost so it may have a rom tune.

right now, until I move... my bills consist of paying my street accountant back some loaned cash to obtain the car. my cell phone bill, and food to eat.

I live in a house and used to pay rent, lady let the house slip into foreclosure back in august or something like that. Bank told us to stop paying her rent and just stay in the house so it's not vandalized or what not.

We'll probably be in the house until it sells, but I am moving to the 626 pretty soon, so rent will come back into play. Since both cars are not street legal, and I don't drive them on the streets, they're both not currently registered nor am I paying insurance on them. Another reason why I wont take them in the streets either, i'm not trying to take any chances.

So once I get the car's where I want them to be one by one, i'll get all of the paperwork in order for them, and properly register them somehow. It's so cal, everyone out here is trying to make a buck somehow man. But anyway as far as the time, I really just do research during the week and do my wrenching on saturday since sunday is girlfriend day.

But I told her I have to hit the car up during the week here and there to get this electrical shit done. I still need to resolve my fusebox situation, and my other wiring gremlins before I can do any driving or take the car off any stands for joy riding.

I taped the wires from the engine harness and the ones from the f3 plug that will be joined so I can do all of the soldering and shit later and they're out of the way and separated from all of the other wires. That way I can have someone double check my work before I proceed.

Lastly the F8 plug is where my headache is, it looks like on this little how to that I will be using the 4 wire. But my wire is either burnt or faded, but I fucking swear it's a green wire with a blue stripe and it is fucking with my color identifiers or something in my head like that kool aid from back in the day that was like green but when you added water it turned blue? You know what I'm saying.

HAHAHA! The rims are currently in the custody of AZNDOC, you're more than free to ask him to try and take more pictures with his iPhone, but they cannot handle the awesomeness and it just looks like he took a picture of the sun itself.

The wheels aren't 100 percent finished, when I get them I will still need to add the pin striping to the wheels myself.

not with paint either, with removable stickers just like volk... Also need to have some volk racing stickers added to the wheels and what not, but some custom ones. Like a smoke or gunmetal glitter color or what not.

Yeah, fuck so I guess I need to keep it, I swear I opened it up and looked for some kind of circuitry to validate why it's wrapped up and hidden but no dice. The end part has a rubber cover over the plug and looks like it can plug into something but I dunno what, bah I'll just wrap it up and hide it.

Well I originally told jack that I wanted to keep a pinstripe on the wheels when they were red, but instead of the (red) pinstripe that is on the wheels already (when the centers were gold) to make that black. But it's all good I can add that shit on my own since it's just stickers.

The lug nuts are baller, as in fucking expensive so I will probably wait till january to coin down on them. I wont be mounting my regular nuts on these wheels for wheel point shots so I don't scratch up the lug mounting holes (oh god noes it's a car scratch it up yo).

I also want to ditch those shitty nexen's on my front wheels and get some nice nice nice grip tires that are streetable and wont die out after 4 months of street driving lol.

Ideally this is what the f7-f9 to f3 plug is supposed to look like. + a ring terminal for your ground which should be the orange cable if I can remember correctly off of the top of my head, sorry I'm tired and delusional right now.

Anyway started around 2pm yesterday, did about 9 hours of soldering, purchased about 50 dollars worth of wiring I may or may not need, need more heat shrink, need a new needle for my soldering iron, need a shower... Oh and I need to go to fucking sleep, it's 4:15am right now.

I tried not to take over the upstairs loft again by laying my shit out on the floor, and now that we have a pit bull puppy that likes to chew up wires to shit, leaving my harness on the floor is out of the question.

so here is the f9 plug, which I decided I will move in the cabin pre-grommet with the wiper amp.

I didn't have a vast selection of color for the wires I used on the harness. I had 18ga and 20ga wire... the faq said to use 16-18 but half of the wire on the harness is 20ga, and most of it is 18ga. The black/red power cable is about 12-14ga I'm sure I bought some 12ga wire but it wasn't needed after all.

Alright wiper amp stuff all done, put some masking tape on it just to tidy up the wires for now since my workspace is limited. As if it wasn't already very obvious, working with a lot of wires at once is very intimidating and annoying. But now I'm like a semi-pro at de-pinning and doing heat shrink on sweet solder. Ring terminal was added for the ground. =)

Now the fun part... the ignition power, and coil power, to power (F3-1), this one took a while for the solder to finally penetrate ALL of the wire... yeah good fucking luck getting heat shrink over that one. I electrical taped it.

Alright, lets join our f10 wiring... I refrained from adding extensions to most of the wires beyond the wiper plugs from the ka harness just due to the plain fact that we have at least a foot of harness we can eliminate for cleanliness. No point in making stuff you're going to cut longer.

Oh, I noticed on this other harness I'm trying to replicate he had all of these plugs in the cabin, I now realized what they were. The wiper amp (KA-F9) and also the SR Igniter plugs, I threw them in the cabin too. I couldn't figure out where in the engine bay to put them without annoying me or drilling even more holes in the sheet metal. I just don't want it exposed to the engine bay since a replacement is nearly 400 bucks.

Yeah, I cant pull it through the grommet since the wires are tangled in this bastardization of wires called an engine harness. So I'll have to depin the ground, marked with green tape so it doesn't get lost in abyss.

and now the ignition chip and cables are in the engine bay, the coil pack plug has enough space from the grommet to mat up to the sub harness for the coil packs.

I also had some wires "left over" from the plugs I had to trace back to the engine plugs to find out WTF they were going to, a lot of them were just in random ground junctions but were never originally going to anything when I pulled the motor. I'm sure some of these things were going to that jig rig ass fan relay I pulled off of the car in an earlier post...

I have GT-U's in the same color, I also have a half-ass attempted Kouki conversion, and I have the same style CF hood and aeroctach pins! LOL.

I finished my wiper plugs yesterday - the guide had different pin locations on the wiper motor from what my wiper motor had, but the colors are the same :)

Looks like you're making great progress. I didn't mess with the f3 plug at all in the end, because I didn't know if my car's body harness even worked... I gave the ECU/sensors one fused relay and the ignitor/ignition another, both activated by ignition switch power, just so that if my entire interior takes a shit, my engine still runs.

now the ecu has this insulated wire running through it. I'm debating on eliminating it or keeping it. I really don't even see how it ties into the harness or saves it from electrical interference of any sort. Especially if the wire is hacked up on both ends, doesn't that kind of defeat it's purpose?

One of those insulated signal and ground wires is hacked into 4 plugs... 3 which I removed, one I am keeping which is the MAF which is running a single LEGIT ground off of it. I am going to replace the wire on the other two plugs from the harness to this plug itself, just need to measure how much wire I need since I'm running this plug around the back of the engine by itself.

Luckily I found some little Cuban food joint that just opened up on Archibald and 6th food was pretty good. A little on the pricey side, but it wasn't chain restaurant food served with a false smile and hopes of a good tip.

I totally agree. I knew I didn't want that huge bitch going back in my bay when I did my swap, but it wasn't till it was actually out that I understood the 'gravity' of the decision lol. If you're interested in redoing a whole shitload of the body harness yourself like I did (and it looks like Vaughn did too), ditch the whole thing. If you want to use the stock stuff, cut the back off and stuff it behind the glove box, off to the side of the AC exchanger box.

To make you feel better, in my car the body harness between SMJ going to the back was just one melted mess of wires. The cluster harness was cut and spliced and wires changed colors 4 times before ending up running to nowhere.

I just snipped the plugs, opened the FSM and went to work. Glad to see I'm not the only one dealing with this shit. At least the S14 FSM has great brakedown of each electrical system, so its easier to trace.

Phi (nrg) came over, looked the shit over, the harness is good to go, laid out out in the engine bay. Just need to finish soldering up the instrument cluster to the f3 plug, finish eliminating any stale wires not going to shit wrapped in electrical tape junctions of doom. We sat and bullshitted for a minute, he took off at 1am.

De-pinned, untangled, re-pinned, arranged left side of the bay harness tonight, it's pretty much ready to loom up.

tomorrow night I'll do the passenger side of the harness, take some pictures that wont make sense. and go to sleeeeeep!

it's 3:32 am, going to hop in the shower and put my work clothes on and go to sleep lol.

oh and threw a shot in of my engine all cleaned up and ready to fire up.

Nope, I have an in-tact airbag too but i've seen people doing hard launches in their 240's an pop goes the passenger airbag... I plan on running harnesses on both seats anyway so no point in running the passenger bag if someones face wont make it over there, much less I don't normally have passengers in my 240.

The airbag cover snaps on and snaps off just like any other panel on the interior.

If you're interested in redoing a whole shitload of the body harness yourself like I did (and it looks like Vaughn did too), ditch the whole thing. If you want to use the stock stuff, cut the back off and stuff it behind the glove box, off to the side of the AC exchanger box.

I just want to create a little panel like vaughn did... but from what i've read you don't even have to cut or splice anything, that harness in the bay is long enough to reach to the trunk if you de-loom it from everything that is attached to it. Something like that, or I can run it right to that area mentioned with no problemo.

I dunno. For now I think I will leave it where it is and when I have the time to tackle it i'll make my fuse panel separately and then just drop it in and move the wires accordingly.

no not at all. the front side of the bag cover snaps down and the rear side usually bolts down. i cut the studs off the back side and put some 3M velcro is a small spot to keep it from hoppin up. it all looks factory.

Tip of the day... de-pinning the grey orange connectors... they have an orange retainer clip that holds the pin on one side, this needs to be lifted, while it's lifted you take your micro flat head or (safety pin) and the retainer flap should be right at the opening, just like shoveling.

ease it in, lift, pull wire, bam it takes a few tries but once you get it down it's butta!

grouping the wires really tight and binding it in sections where it should wrap through the engine. This sequence of wires should all slide through the intake manifold for the tps sensor, and whatever was next to it again (lol it's late) and the cam angle sensor plug that goes across the front of the engine. I wanted to mount it around the hot side of the engine but it was too much work and really nowhere to hide it. =(

another angle... the whole harness is pretty much single snake sections like this... the fucking ground wires are getting on my last nerves though since I cant really "de-pin" them and they're all jointed so it's like unbraiding hair maneuvering wires through them. After I finish this up I'll do a final test fit and pull the excess through back into the engine bay by the firewall.

I'll then take measurements to share in case anyone else is crazy enough to do this in the future.

Then I work on the inside, labeling every wire, numbering it and then de-pinning them from each plug that they go to and untangling them, shortening as necessary and then re-pinning them. In the meantime I need to take measurements for my battery set up and also test to make sure this all works. Once that is said and done I will begin the fuse box relocation. For now it can stay in the engine bay.

Since I need to get started on the body work, I wont have time to take on the electrical projects so at least I'll have time to plan it out.

I didn't get like a "hook up" but as far as I am concerned per wheel the price was very reasonable for what I asked.

I got a rash repaired which I cant even tell which wheel was damaged before now that I think of it so I am grateful for that.

the paint is a 3 stage candy with a very fine pearl in it, the darker the light the more the pearl stands out. it's rad!

it was under 200 per wheel for dis-assembly repair, the whoooole barrel painted and the faces candy apple red. Anyone else would've easily charged about 350 per wheel for powder coating and most likely would've not done dis-assembly.

(I think that hood I posted may be do-luck, still doing my googling.)

azndoc aka jack the magnificent, king jack, and whatever else he goes by these days had them refinished. Uses the same process on the wheels that most companies like work does on the inners of their professor wheels.

Lets just say my mount and balance fee's doubled lol, they put rags on the base that holds the wheel in place and rotates it, pretty much wrapped everything they could in rags and treated the wheels like they were nitrogen bombs being handled in an enclosed bunker lol.

I did like 60 layers of clear on my lips when I painted them and they chipped when I mounted tires.

I don't think clear makes much of a difference at all if the surface prep wasn't done in a certain matter, remember the lips on these things used to be polished. you cannot tell the difference between the lips or the centers because they had to rough up all of the metal for the primer, certain primers hold better to metal yada ya! whatever they used it was high quality stuff, too bad they don't paint cars lol.

heh, I think I tried to get it off one night... I have my spare ka harness that I play with so it's like I dunno if I should be fucking trying to dismantle these things or not, so I'm just playing it safe, it gives me no trouble this way and I don't have to worry about breaking things.

I've never heard that. If you let every layer dry it has kept paint from cracking in my expirience. I could be wrong though.

I did my lips and they didnt crack untill I mounted tires. I EVEN curbed one slightly and the paint just dented but no cracks.

whats funny is that I originally wanted to paint my civic si that dark amethyst pearl color and put candy red ce28's on it. Shit would look like an i'll eggplant or some shit!

but gunmetal grey, purple calipers and red wheels, a bit too much.

I'm thinking more of paint matching the calipers to the body of the car and having the letters on the calipers dipped in candy red to offset it. I mean it wont matter much anyway after a week of driving they'll be covered in a shitload of brake dust.

Which reminds me i'm going to have to buy some wax, like the good shit to put on these wheels... yeah, cause brake fluid and rims are no mi gusta!

there is some thread I read on flow dynamics, i'm not going to run stupid ass spacers on my hood hinges to vent from the rear, but basically a pool of hot air will build up in the back of the engine bay or some shit while only the front half gets cooled really defeating the purpose of even having the front vent.

the d-max and daimyo hoods have rear vents and matt up to the hood hinges no problemo and without spacers, i'll leave cheap air venting tricks to AE & Honda drivers trying to look jdm.

So I cut off all of those other plugs, every last one of those varmits! Yes I did! I untangled the wires, took out about 1 foot of wire and re did the connections between the insulated wire, then sleeved it...

But first, got home and my center caps were here. Ordered from e-autosports on ebay, shipped my shit out to me next day, give or take a few bucks I could've gotten a better deal if I would've waited.

when soldering, a tip my dad gave me was to heat the wire up from the bottom first a little bit before you apply the solder, this way it will heat up and melt through.

then after you have a solid layer on top, slide the tip back and forth on the bottom and remove excess solder if necessary.

need idea's for brake caliper colors... Was thinking a bright silver with red letering, period blood red. Dunno, still need to order some black glitter stickers and shit so I can pinstripe the wheels. And maybe some black and chrome Volk racing stickers to replace the ones I took off of the wheels along with their authenticity stamps.

yeah, I really want to make the internal harness nice, but in reality, my fingers hurt, everyting with white tape in the finished product basically needs to be shortened to follow the path to the ecu plug, I'm all out of heat shrink and sleeving. Not to mention I also will be installing air conditioning on my sr... Bracket from codyace is on it's way....

Wont have much money to do shit to the car next weekend so i will probably just install all of my replacement parts at that point. Having a spare harness came in handy replacing a lot of the damaged wires (color coded) that I needed just in case of trouble shooting...

Drastically shortened my igniter wires, and since I didn't want to bend the blue and red wire I snipped it, and made it pair up into itself and sleeved it after wrapping it in electro tape and what not.

anyway I'll let the pictures do the talking, otherwise in the engine bay harness is pretty un-noticable, need to do the lower harness which should take about 2 hours, and shorten the knock sensor plug from the block. Then start planning out the fuse box relocation. First things first this thing needs to be road worthy again so after I drop the money with city tire for my volk formula gt lugnuts $$$ I will be investing in battery mess, and also figuring out how I'm going to get this ford fan running in my car.

Nah I agree, I have no idea why I bought stretched tires, I just wanted to run the same sizes that the tires already had on them, I really had no rubbing issues, but I want to buy nicer tires up front, I am still undecided what to run. But I needed tires asap. The tires are all faded because I don't use that tire shine shit on them. It makes your tires turn brown, now that ain't cool. But I know what you mean dude, trust me I will eventually fix the front tire situation.

um I got the tiniest multi-purpose craftsman screw driver I could find at sears, ended up being too big for smaller pins, so I bought one of those jewel case screw driver sets that are in those blue cases with a clear top. and I'm using the teeny tiny flat head to de-pin the tiny connectors. At first it was really tricky because you don't know what the hell to look for, and there reallt isn't a good faq on it. You just have to have patience and sometimes if you got the screw driver in there and the plug isn't bulging.

You probably aren't lifting the flap high enough.

I wish I had some microscopic camera and a room with light in all area's and no shadows to film how to properly de-pin the connectors.

nope, as stated before I put the harness in the car while I did the measurements, the maf wire runs along the frame rail and goes right up into the charge pipe with a little slack if necessary, cant even see where the wire comes from... o2 sensor and wire fit snug right under my master cylinder, wont be able to see that with the heat shield in the bay. Unfortunately there was no way to cleanly route the cas sensor wire over the engine without worries of it getting melted so it runs across the front of the engine still =(

injector wires, everything measures puuuurfect. I'll get some pictures of it hooked up this weekend as I put the motor back together after cleaning it and installing all of my parts.

I just need to stop being a lazy ass and snip the rest of those wires that were in white tape so I can sleeve the rest of the harness in car. Otherwise it's done son!

For now, loctite will do.

I should've cleaned that dirt off before removing this... doh! I carefully put a lint free shop towel in each cylinder and scraped off that nasty gasket shit, then pulled the towel out with any debris that fell into the cylinder, then put a clean towel in after cleaning them with my fingers and taped them up 1 by one so I can de-grease this side of the engine.

Also you may think I'm crazy, but I took a screwdriver and indented where my tps was sitting so I can remove it and sleeve it's connector (yes, sleeving the throttle body's shit.)

and here is the gasket that was on the intake manifold which is thinner than my dickhairs. next to the circuit sports one. I guess I may need slightly longer bolts... and I hate measuring shit.

Along with the h20 sensors next to the tps sensor. (call me crazy but I'm anal - no homo)

Great progress Wayne! You'll feel so much better once you're done, knowing you properly cleaned and sleeved everything. People's oooh's and aaaaahhh's will slowly make up for the pain from gouging your knuckles open and the arthritis you'll no doubt have lol.

That red loctite is fine for the head bolts (although it's not the ultra high-temp stuff you could have used), but I hope you bought OEM locking tabs for the manifold-to-turbo bolts - no loctite will hold those :/

Nah they're sitting off to the side, they're a bitch to put on while holding up a turbo so no way in hell i'm going to put them on just to put two bolts on to take the turbo's weight off of my oil return line to the oil pan.

also put a new clamp on that since that area had oil spattered on the block
no more leaks to my oil return.

Alright... It's Sunday, my fingers are sore, my forearm looks like Ronnie Coleman's when he was 16 I have cuts and bruises all over and a swollen lympnode but the fuck if i'm done! I was determined to just finish everything yesterday and get the motor back in, instead I just cleaned the transmission. Now that I have an air gun I'll be removing accessories and cleaning them as well. And the block, and replacing every gasket it was I needed to replace.

Now... Here is my Friday night... I brought the lower intake manifold upstairs because I wanted to clean the iacv and sleeve the wires on it and also my water temp sensor and the other thing next to it lol. (technical term.)

up top looks like the valve cover gasket is going to give... My girlfriend got upset I didn't run out to get a replacement gasket, hehe she doesn't understand I have to order shit like this. Anyway lets move on to Chloe to get these fucking motor mounts off once and for all.

Craftsman stripped bolt remover, 1/2 air gun, swivel socket and a slight extension got me the angle I needed for this gun to work down here.

If the oil was coming from the tranny which I know it's not then the input shaft plate wouldn't be caked in the grooves with oil.

I also had to write with a sharpie on my garage door, "NO MORE DOGS" I work in here, and not my problem... There is dogshit and piss UNDER my car, and I was not too happy with having to slide through it to get my motor mounts loose.

Not pictured is me putting on the solid motor mounts on my sr20 (I believe they may be URAS or knock off) whatever the case they shake bolts loose like solid mounts do.

Motor back out for it's final cleaning, gasket replacement and front and rear main seal job I need to do and then it's getting slapped back together and we're going to make sure it runs... Then I will start drawing up the fuse box relocation. But before I jump into anymore time consuming wiring, I'm going to do the body work finally and get this shit ready for paint.

So the roof swap is next on my grocery list. But before that... my work, is never over... Presents from my girlfriend =(
