In the process of removing my front wheel to get it balance, the stud got stripped from the hub. There are no grooves on the hub to hold the new stud in place.
A new hub is $140, a stud $2 <-- prices from courtesy nissan site.
Would jb weld keep a new stud from spinning on my old hub? I know it has to cure overnight for it to work effectively.
So, anybody know if this will work?
thx in advance

the hubs are not splined they just have a hole and the stud has splines that deform in the hole to prevent spinning when installed, plus the material for the hub is a lot harder then that of the stud, so chances are the hub isnt damaged only the stud is, so get a new stud and put in and u will be good

No need to get a new hub just yet. Just like japslapsilvia said, you should just try the easy thing first. Get the new stud impacted in properly and see if it stays put. More than likely it will. =)

^ I agree with karl. Just get a new stud. They're $1.25 from AutoZone or most auto parts places. Just remove the defective one and replace with the new one. Use several washers and place them on the stud. Then use an open lug nut and tighten it down. Torque down as you would when intalling your wheels.
If for whatever reason it won't tighted then just get yourself a hub from the junkyard. They're $15 ea. (plus tax) at my local one.

If you wanna cheap it out actually weld the wheelstud in, NOT JB weld.

Try a new stud first. As said, the stud is way softer than the hub, it's unlikely the hub is damaged enough to be trash. If so, tackweld it in, JB Weld will NOT hold under those loads.

Thanks folks. I will try a new stud first before welding it in or getting a new hub.
It really came in an inopportune time because I missed out on an autoX. Didn't have time to work on the car.

Just wanted to update you folks. Finally got time/tools to work on the car.
My hub is completely stripped. I got some new studs, and tried to put it in. It was loose, so i'm in the process of searching for a hub locally.

As requested, here's a pic of the stripped hub. The other good holes have serrated/grooved holes that hold the stud in place. As you can see, this one has been smoothed over and won't hold a stud in place.

You should just post up a want to buy.
Hubs are cheap.
I wouldn't trust jb weld.
Best bet is to tack weld the new stud in there.
A welder could do that in literally seconds.
Shouldn't cost more than a few bucks.
