I posted a while back that my spark plug ring gasket's have gone bad in my KA24DE and I have oil pooling in the 3rd spark plug cylinder of the head.

And now I am pulling the KA and prepping it (WITHOUT REBUILDING IT) to throw in my new daily driver. an older s13 chassis.

The car never overheats and always runs at 175 after hours of driving. I've had idling problems due to vacuum and the cel for the knock sensor going off. But I think i've narrowed that issue down to just a faulty signal from the knock sensor.

Bah... KA Grimlins suck!

anyway I guess I will need to replace my headgasket, water pump, and maybe the oil pump? while I'm at it. Not too sure on that one. Anyone else have any suggestions on what else to possibly pick up and replace while i'm at it.

Already have ordered a new front/rear main seal, in valve cover and plug gasket, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires.

thanks in advance.

That doesnt look like coolant in the oil. That jus look like the oil that fell on the plug when u pulled it out. Maybe the Valve cover gasket and the seals for the plugs on the valve cover jus need to be changed 1st. Usually water in oil looks like chocolate milkshake. And you said your not loosing coolant. So do the math. Also do a compression check if u want to ease your mind a bit and coolant system pressure test. Since your pulling the motor change all the gaskets and vacuum lines while your out and maybe the mounts wud be a good idea as well and the front and rear main seals like you already suggested.

how about this... this all came from the radiator.

Correct me if I'm wrong but oil and coolant/water is usually a chocolate milk color. Not sure what to tell you there.

looks like old coolant to me. I have done numerous 30,000 mile services. I work at a dealer and sumtimes coolant can be brown. And like i said if oil got in the coolant it wud be chocolate shake like. Very Creamy and u wud have the same remains on the dipstick, low compression on one of 2 cylinders or a bad oil cooler. Like i said to ease your mind do a compression test and a coolant system pressure test. And they also have a block tester you can u check for a blown head gasket. That cud be excess oil in the pan from a previous oil change u made.

OK, I see no reason why you need to do your headgasket. Oil in the coolant, WHERE? I see oil in the spark plug holes. I don't know why you haven't fixed that by now.

Just looks like some rusty ass coolant. Need a new WP and Thermo and to flush the block.

Change your coolant more often!
