View Full Version : Wheel fitment question... 17x9 +0 up front?

Before I get flamed, I did ask in the wheel fitment thread, and while that thread is extremely beneficial, it is more about people posting THEIR setups, rather than answer questions about other's. So while I tried to get my info the "proper" way, I didnt have much luck.

That being said, Im looking to put a set of Jegs Steelies on my S14. They come in 17x8 or 17x9, both with a +0 offset. Ideally, I'd like to run 17x9 all around so I could rotate my tires when the time arises. But I'm not sure if that size would fit up front without more than a roll. Your thoughts?

Or would I be better off with the 17x8 up front, and 17x9 in the rear? For tires, I was going to do a 225/40/17 up front if I run the 9" wheel. If I run a staggered setup, what would you recommend for tire sizes? I love a fat rear tire, but I hate rubbing!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You'll need to pull the front for sure...

What about with an 8" rim?

8 +0 will work with barely a roll.

9 +0 will work with a roll and a little pull, but you can barely tell anyway with the fronts. Just buy the 17x9 +0, put 'em on the car, and see how much you need to pound... then take the fenders off and pound away with a hammer (I put the fender on a spare piece of carpet to protect it when I did mine).

9j zero offset with a 225 might be a little bit tricky to run up front on stock fenders. You'll be better off running a 215 tire.

^^^ on an S14? It's doable with a little hammering. The S14 fronts are very easy to shape.

If I went with an 8" up front, what size tire would be best? If I did that, I'd try to go as wide as possible in the rear- which is how wide?

I dont have a problem with rolling the fenders, but If I can run an 8", and itll look nearly the same, and I can fit the same size tire on it, why not?
