so yeah, as mentioned in the latest purchase thread, here's my silk screen press that came yesterday

http://www.laboratory17.com/press.jpg

i'd never used one before, so i today i had to go through all the steps of making a design on a transparency, then exposing a screen, and then actually printing the shirt.

i had to think of something stupid and funny for my first shirt, since it probably wouldn't turn out very well anyway.

well, here's what i chose:

So much fun. I want to have one, never have to buy teeshirts again. Draw up a vector real quick, print on a transparency throw down some paint. Baller status tee.

From what I remember, you can't.

Has to be a vectorgraph(iirc).

Process also takes a couple hours to transfer the image onto the screen, then expose it, etc.

So, to make just one shirt wouldn't really be worth it.

Andrew Bohan

you can use raster (jpg/bmp)

no problem, as long as it's big enough

but yea, it's a couple hours just to prep the screen, however, i could fit a lot of small names on one screen

just tape the parts you don't wanna use :)

Wasn't really thinking of one shirt.

Another person I know told me he could do one from a jpeg. That's why I asked.

Well, just saying from what I remembered back in class about 3 years ago.

Haha.

Anywho, it would be pretty cool to have a certain design on the shirt with our premie names on them.

I cant wait til someone puts me on a t-shirt.

Hopefully something festive.... With lots of bright colors, and it can't have any fire retardant properties... It actually needs to burst into flames when static electricity is present.
