Here's my goal... I'm going to put together a Linux car computer with an LCD display. I'd like to have a RS-232 (or some other digital link) between that computer and the car's ECU. That way, I can have software on the Linux computer to display stats and graphs and change performance settings on the fly (sort of like that pop-out LCD in the Eclipse in The Fast and the Furious). Who makes a good ECU that has an RS-232 link that can have its performance info changed while the car is running without puking?

I think AEM does, but I'm not entirely sure. Can anyone confirm this?

Haltech's line of engine management computers use the 9 pin RS-232 serial port connection. Haltech's software also allows real time adjusting and monitoring. For more info see www.haltech.com
