sr20, fmic, bov, apexi filter for turbo

so the other day i was washing my car and hosed down my engine area, soaped it and let it dry for a few hours. . . ( i dont know if this was the culprit but i just wanted to give the history)

and then i was chugging along on the freeway, low rpm shifts like 3 ish and then after i traveled about 10 miles cruising at around 3000 rpms 70 mph or so

i push the engine past the 3's and at around 3.5 - 4000 rpms engine cuts off and so i let off of the accelerator ( i was very low on gas, so i was like . . . gas???) so i try a few more times and let off and it starts backfiring LOUD POPS as the rpms drop. and so in fear i exit and try revving in neutral and same thing 4000 rpmish cut cut cut and let go accel and POP POP POP!!! and then it drops and stalls . . . engine won't turn on

and then i let it sit for a minute and then it turns cranks and ON! luckily im in front of the gas station . . .fill up my tank and everything is fine.

any guesses on what it may have been???? im just baffled

wait really??? . . . cut offs and then pop pop POP all because of super low gas? why the pops? =i . . . i wouldn't consider that grumblings more like angry explosions of shart

how much gas did you have when it happend?
if you had enough gas then it MIGHT be the MAF.

Moral of the story: Your fuel gauge is on the dash for a reason.
