does anybody know the fitting size for the oil pressure switch on the sr redtop? i just bought an apexi oil pressure gauge and the instructions state that their threading on their sensor is 1/8pt. what is stock so i can get an adapter if needed? thanks.

on my RB it was a M10 x 1.00.....i know i know...not an SR, but i would assume they use the same thing. just change your oil, pull out the stock oil pressure switch, and bring it to the hardware store
finding an adapter wasn't too hard, but making an adapter into a splitter required some creativity

here's what i needed:
Adapters and Bushings: Bushings - 1/8" NPT Female x Metric Male - egauges.com (http://www.egauges.com/vdo_indA.asp?PN=R7960)

did you guys use apexi gauges?

no to apexi gauges, but the sensor was 1/8" NPT
that's pretty much what 90% of aftermarket gauge sensors are.

the the apexi sensor goes into the adapter piece which then converts the threading to M10 X 1.0 male which goes into the block?

Most JDM gauges are 1/8PT not 1/8NPT stock SR oil pressure sensor is 1/8PT.

^^ok, my gauges weren't jdm so that must be why the NPT
If he's right then it should just screw right in!

well i just attempted the sensor swap and it didn't screw in all the way. I'm going to get the fitting.

I just did a oil cooler install and used a M10x1.0 on my redtop. Went in about 3/4 of the way by hand the i used a wrench for the rest of the way but it went right in. I think it only went 3/4 by hand due to some old oil built up on the threads.

Close. 1/8" BPST is the correct measure. And yes, most stuff from Japan is threaded to BPST standards, US stuff needs the adapter to go from NPT.

correct.
but its BSPT. and PT (as used to describe fittings on JDM gauges) is the same as BSPT

port on SR is same as your sensor -1/8 BSPT. No adapters/fittings/bullshit needed.
