The fsm is pretty straightforward but wanted to be clear one thing. When flushing do you fill the radiator up to a specfic level or just all thw way up to the filler neck? Its dark when I work on it so maybe im missing a level indicator.

top off the radiator, make sure no air pockets are trapped inside the radiator, BLEED, BLEED, BLEED! I usually flush the Coolant while the engine is running, heater on full blast to the hottest setting and wait until I see radiator is about to overflow then I know its full

Drain old coolant
Top off with distilled water
Run with heater on full blast
Drain distilled water
Rinse and repeat till the water you drain comes out pretty much clear
It might take 5-6 times but you'll know all the old crap is out then top off with fresh antifreeze

Check with local parts stores to see if they have a disposal tank. Most of the Auot Zones, Advanced Auto, NAPA, etc have holding tanks for used oil. Sometimes they have them for antifreeze and such as well. They handle disposal of dangerous stuff, i.e. oil, antifreeze, old batteries, etc.

Although it's definitely NOT suggested, coolant can be flushed away with water as long as you use a ton of water, IE enough to dilute it down to nothing. Letting it seep into grass or dirt is strongly discouraged though.
Most places will take it and recycle it, I've even seen some salvage yards that sell old antifreeze so there's always a use for it.

When you are putting in new coolant REMEMBER THAT YOU HAVE THE PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE TO GET THE REMAINING AIR OUT!!!
It's always near the upper radiator hose housing. Pull it off after you topped off the coolant WITHOUT having started it. Then run the motor with everything back together except for the cap for about 5-10 minutes to get ALL the air out.
ps. This is all with the yellow funnel attachment which I highly recommend getting :)
Have a nice day.

No bolts go there.
When filling coolant system I always jack the front of the car WAY up. I get it high enough to make the filler neck on the radiator the highest point in the coolant system. This makes bleeding air bubles really easy

Bumping an old thread. Do you guys also use that chemical coolant flush when you guys do this? I found some brown crap in my reservoir and I think it's time to flush my coolant. Also, is Prestone green ok? I have a Koyo Radiator and an RB25. I know in my Supra, that using certain kinds of coolant will damage the cooling system.
Thanks,
Jeremy
Brown stuff? recently my friend was changing from some kind of blue special coolant to a prestone all purpose green and he said a mechanic had told him he needed to be sure to flush ALL of the old blue coolant out because when it mixed with the green and got hot, it would make brown gooey deposits...
Also, you can flush coolant down the sink as long as your city has the proper waste treatment facility (not a well) and you don't need to mix it with water when you get rid of it, its already mixing with water, you are poring down a drain lol. Check with your city to find out if its ok first.
