the sr20 harness is already modded for the s13 240sx.. my question is what other modifications will have to be made to run in my kouki s14?

do a search, it's been covered many times dude. I am currently doing the same thing but in a nutshell it's just accessories that you have to change the pin layouts to like the windshield wipers, and stupid shit like that.

google it if you cant find it here.

I did it. It's not fun - there's a lot more than just windshield wipers (although that's a bitch too). The lower engine harness plugs are not the same, so you get to play with alternator/starter wiring and repin the 8-pin black plug that has 5th gear/neutral/VSS/etc in it. Then you get to play with trying to get power to your SR harness, which is completely different in the S14's (they use a combo power plug inside the car, instead of the grey and brown power plugs in the front of the pass fender like an S13).

I ended up making a standalone power harness for the SR ECU using two fuses/relays (one for igniter, one for ECU/sensor power) so that I could throw a kill switch in there easily, and have peace of mind that my motor will run regardless of interior electrical problems.

Start by reading everything you can about the swap, and tackle the problems (power, wipers, lower harness) one at a time.

I recommend Taylor Durdan. His number is 813-766-9304. His email is [email protected] This guy is amazing at wiring.

Review: Durdan Perfab SR20 Engine Harness Repair: SR20DET Forum (rear-drive): Nissan Forums / Infiniti Forums - NICOclub (http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=353722)

I had my harness done by yury at wiring specialties about 3 years ago. Recently had a problem with old wires corroding. I was never happy with the way WS did my harness. All the lengths of harness were excessive and the whole job was just poorly executed. I decided to send my harness out to Taylor and when I got it back in only a week, I was so happy. Every length of wire was absolutely dead on. He even relocates the ignitor into the cabin and extends your ecu harness so the ecu sit under the seat.

I have a s13 sr into a s14. Wiring is the hardest part. Everything else is the same as if it was s14 sr going into s14. Just remember to swap over coolant temp sensors and speed sensors.

Oh, and Durdan's prices are about the same as Wiring Specialties. Who would you pick?

Not a bad idea. Another option would be Dave with the RB-powered 280zx, "Z U L8R" I think is his username. The only beef I've got with wiring businesses is that unless you have complete, uncut harnesses, the price skyrockets.

Ideally, everyone would share their pinouts, but since it's so bad for business to do so, it's tough to find all the info in one place.

so you swap out the s13 sr coolant temp sensor AND sender with the 2 from a KA s14 or just one or the other?

they're the same plugs last I checked, you don't need to switch those at all silly. Why would you ask that question, you're putting an sr into an s14 using the sr's harness not your old ka harness, only plugs you need off the ka harness are the wiper plugs, f3 plug and f2 plug. That's it.

this is the 3rd or 4th time i've read that statement but no one is specific...my car is already wired up and runs drives fine but the coolant guage doesnt work along with the speedo..

I just bough a s13sr20det harness into a s14 chassis but i payed 320 smacks for it, and i need to clean it up and re wrap it... worth it tho, i tryed to find info for the harness rewiring but i didnt have much luck and im not the best at wiring... i know wiring specialties does them but you pay high for it... mine was wired for a z maf, came with a battery relocation kit, and the lower harness :) i can get pictures if you need...
