I never think how proud our astronauts and space program make me feel, as an American, until something like this happens. With these lives, I realize that they are more than just people, they are a great source of pride for our nation. May god rest their souls.

This is very sad. God bless your families and friends. You will always be remembered for your braveness and honor for our countries (one astronaut was from Israel).

Well put, but I think not only Americans feel this as a source of pride, but mankind in its entirety. It makes us all realize what we can and have achieved, as well as the sacrifices we have endured. One thing remains certain, we cannot let their deaths go in vein.
