Just got a new exhaust (custom piping with Hyper Medallion muffler, sounds decent) but the towhook on the left side of the rear bumper is in the way and its making the exhaust sit sideways. It looks as if it's welded on but I'm not sure. Any easy way to remove it? I thought about taking a cutting wheel to it but decided to ask first. Thanks.

I just bent it out of the way with a prybar. It's still there when I need it, but it's tucked horizontally above the exhaust now.

You have to cut those out to clear most exhausts, just cut it.

Cut it.
Like everyone else said. Give $10 to a friend or aquaintenance with a cutting torch and they'll probably do it. It takes about 2 mins.

the towhook on the left side of the rear bumper
That is not a towhook. The eyelet is attached to the rear bumper support, and the bumper support is bolted onto the rear frame rails and fenders.
It's a transit tiedown point.
If you actually tried to pulled the full weight of the car with that, it would rip the rear bumper support apart, especially up an incline.
Any easy way to remove it?
Any way you prefer is fine. Just make sure you don't hit the gas tank.
The easiest way would be to toss your muffler shop $10 and have them slice it off.
FYI, some twin tip exhaust clear the tiedown just fine due to the dual tips.

im not sure were you came up with that idea, but its just as well built as the tow hook on the other side of the bumper, im sure it was used to tie the car down on the transporter, but thats just cause its an easy place to use/get too.
OP cut it lik everyone else and the mother has posted

Alright, thanks guys. I'm going to borrow a friend's cutting wheel later on today.

yeah use a cut off wheel. using a torch COULD cause problems (warping the bumper, being close to the gas tank, etc) not saying that anything will happen with a torch, but ive seen crazier things happen..

Like I said above, the rear bumper support is bolted onto the rear frame rails with 2 bolts on each side. The bumper itself is bolted onto the rear fenders with 3 nuts on each side.
The two eyelets are welded onto the rear bumper support, one on each side.
In order for a towhook to be secured, the hook needs to be welded and/or reinforced to the frame rail. It was originally designed as a tiedown point due to the angle of the stress loading, vertical vs. horizontal of towing.
If you want to pull the full weight of the car up the steep incline of a flatbed using 4 bolts and 6 nuts to hold the full weight of the car, you are free to do so.
You can probably do it in a pinch and can probably get away with it if you're just winching the car to a flatbed. If you were actually going to tow the car either by putting a strap around the rear "towhooks" and lifting the rear end, or by pulling the car with all wheels on the ground with the "towhooks", this is when you will have problems.
This is the Internet and anyone is free to do what they want, but I'm also free to say what I think is safe and not safe.
I will give you credit for saying that both "tow hooks" are equally well built; however, they both are equally unsafe for actual towing.
