:newbie:
Alright first order of business. I picked up my current s13 from a guy down south traded my s14 strait across for his 89 Silvia converted coupe with a few issues. But! I was not afraid of pulling a motor apart.

Here's a pic of the car when i got it off the trailer.

I pulled the hood, bumper, lights and FMIC off before i really got into it
here's a pic of the engine bay of the knocking engine

Just a humble little red top.
I then unplugged all the connectors, took the alternator out, fan and radiator, and the pulled the drive shaft (and i forgot to have a oil pan handy ended up with quite the mess:doh:)
I pulled the engine dissembled it and the sent all the internals to Ridge Reamer in Arvada Co, 80003 303-420-3543
I had them re-round my rods, knife edge and balance the crank, measure everything make sure its all within spec. And i purchased a set of clevite 77 bearings. All bearing surfaces are mirror polished..

The reason the engine got fried was the oil pick up/screen was broke off at the flange (prolly form using a jack under the oil pan is my guess
we must all bow down to this intelligent being:bowdown:

Duh Duh DUHHH!!! The re-assy... All studs replaced with arp brand parts
lots and lots of assy lube clevite 77 brand, cometic head gasket oem water and oil pump both new, oem piston rings, new oil pick up and nizmo thermastat.
and the coupe de 'grace a Exedy Hyper single clutch set:cool:
All torqued down nice and tight, new fliuds, filters, i did a rattle can paint job on the intercooler pipes and valve cover with letters filed off. mobile one 90w in the tranny.
Plug everthing back in. double check triple check get in the car turn the key and your heart is fluttering and.... KLICK!!!? hmm good thing the battery is in the trunk

I figured out the issue though It is what is commonly know as down south engineering gone wrong. Lots of little crimp connectors on the harness replaced by my proper soldering technique.
will post link to vid of the car running when i figure out how to put it up.

let me know what'cha guys think

"build threads" like this one are horrible. this is not a build thread. it is just some pix of the car you bought. should be in the pix thread. no need for its own one.

none of this is FTW.

you have failed. Old School rims, Top mounted GT28, and 4lug all add up to FAILURE

Try again when you can post a "Built Thread" instead of a "Build Thread".
