I was looking for some insight on picking, storing, and removing a JDM front clip.
If you picked up a front clip, did you rent a box truckhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2a.gif (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1629025#) with a lifegate ( ie penske). Used a trailer?
While storing or working on the clip itself, did you simply leave it mounted on cinder blocks/jack stands or equivalent?
Other than selling a clip to another person, I imagine there may be issues bringing it to a salvage yard or recycler due to not having a title? Any experiences or insite on these questions would helpful. Thanks.

there's not that much metal left over in a front clip. chop it to bits and throw it away. i helped a guy throw away an entire s14 one time.

nissan180sxer, did you use a towing bar, car dolly, or trailer?

When I bought my Aristo front clip I had it shipped straight to my house. Came on a flatbed truck strapped to a pallet. Used a pallet jack to push it in my garage.

Thanks, I think I could probably do the same with a flatbed trailer and truck then.

We picked a friend's up at the importer and pulled everything we needed in the parking lot, then left the shell there. Otherwise have it towed or shipped to your home, cut it up when you're done.

I had mine flatbedded to the shop. When it was fully stripped, the shop took care of disposing it.

They used a forklift to put mine on a trailer, then I just set it on concrete with nothing under it, just sitting on the hubs and clearing the oil pan. When I was done with it I sold it to a kid who wanted to do a RHD swap and he picked it up.

Scottman, I guess you did not have to go under the clip to pull any bolts such as the engine/transmission mounts?

^I took care of those when the clip was on the hoist before we set it down.

when i got my clip i used a uhaul car trailer. put two wheels on it, and the place i bought it from used a lift to put it on the trailer, when i got home me n a couple buddies rolled it off the trailer.
when i took the engine out i just tipped the front up n put jack stands under the front so it wouldnt tip on me.
i still have the clip cuz it still has mint body panels on it. so i leave them bolted on so they wont get all messed up

I got it off ebay. I talked to the company for about an hour before I was convinced they were legit. It was from a company called C and T Japanese but there website is down or something. They sent me comp #s and a vid of it runnning. Once I got it hooked up a spare walbro that i had and it started right up. Sounded sick with an open downpipe!
