I was wondering what the benefit of a mechanical boost gauge is over an electric one, and vice versa.

Thanks

at least to me a mecanical read is almost instantly... electrical boost have some sort of lag in the reading, at least the ones ive seen and tried myself... maybe some higher end electric boost gauge dont have this problem... i have a greedy profec b(not a boost gauge but displays boost electrically) and when i compare the reading to a mecanical boost gauge i have (right now a autometer one) its sort of slow compared to the mecanical...

hope this helped a bit and it might be me going crazy and being picky but i prefer a mecanical boost gauge... this was discussed not long ago in the STACK thread that was going around about people preffering a builtin electric boost gauge or a seperate mecanical boost gauge with theyre stack...

The benefit of an electric one is running wires instead of 20 feet of vacuum tubing

The profec B isn't a boost gauge. :-/
It's more a point of reference.
