Because he was speeding and had no insurance. So technically he would be at fault because he was operating the vehicle illegally. Hopefully he doesn't get another vehicle because he's probably the type that speeds through school zones

yea if hes the kind that speeds through school zones...then he doesnt deserve another car... and did he tell the cops that he was going 55 in a 35? and even if he doesnt have insurance, the school bus being at fault would mean that the school district would have to pay him for the value of his car... it would just be the same as if you got hit by someone else and their insurance paid for everything and you didnt tell your insurance... right?

You do know that some insurance agencies account for modifications done to your car, which can add value to it, so you could get another one in good condition... but yes most of the time when your car gets totalled out, you get screwed... so it does suck, but you just have to deal with it :-/

I think everyone can assume that he was coming up on the bus, maybe it did pull over in front of him or whatever, but by the looks of things, he was going too fast AND likely rear-ended the bus.

Whatever the case was about not having insurance etc., if you're not getting a new car, you were at fault.
