Hey guys so i got my HIDS in. Well kind of. They are zip tied in. The answer for everything. I was wondering what did the guys with s13 popups do to mount them? My conversion bulb came with no mounting hardware and my stock housing wouldnt fit the new bulb. Ive gotten the finger twice today because of them being tied down so high. Any help is appreciated. do i have to make a custom bracket assembly or what?

Are they the correct bulb, H4? What housings are you using? Post pics.

Just a heads up, your post is written terribly.

Did you get H4 bulbs for your headlights?

If so they should've fit no problem...

What company did you get for the HID kit?

Do you have some pics of the bulb and how it's supposed to clip into the headlight housing?

We can't help you if you don't help us.

i hope this isnt his first "mod" to his car..

yeah they should go in fine, I only had to slightly modify the tabs where the bulb itself goes into but all in all it went in fine. Also, there is a place right underneath each popup headlight where you can mount the ballasts.

You shut up too.

He's not going to sell them to you because he can't figure it out.

He's looking for help. Not to sell.

This isn't the FS section.

If you had the HID and want to have a place to bolt them in.

Passenger side.

(the Coolant overflow tank bolt under the fender)

Driverside:

(if you have an aftermarket intake, then use the airbox bolts next to the ignition coil)

It is quite easy. Take out your stock bulbs (if you have non sealed beam headlights already)
****(Buy a NON sealed headlight housing)!!! with that holds H4 bulb*****

You cannot install HID if you have the stock Sealed beam headlight housing!

It's pretty much on each HID ballast 1 negative and 1 positve wire. Thats it.
And the rubber insulated plug, plugs into the HID bulbs,

I just plug it directly, you can put a fuse, in between each HID but I had no problems yet, running no fuses.
No need to run the Relay wire, that's just a waste of time and it doesn't help at all from my experience.

Ok. sry guys.
I have an h4 bulb and the h4 conversion headlight. MY only question is that is there any way to mount the new h4 headlight to the factory bulb housing or bracket, in a manner where i can still align my lights. Bacause as of now they are held in with zip ties. I hope you all understand what i mean. Ill get a hold of my camera tomorrow and take pics if still not clear.
And no this is not the first mod to my car, and yes this is my first post. I've been on Ka-t.org for the past few years. But this site is much better in forms of quantity of answers, and wide range of posts.

Are you saying that the headlamps do not fit into the bezels, the metal frame that holds them in with the four bolts?

yah. thats what i am trying to say. thank god someone understands me. there no brackets coming off the new h4 headlight that can help mount it to the bezel.

I bet you if you came over I could get that shit to work.

I had a problem similar to that when I got my HIDs.

MAKE IT WORK!

Haha, you could probably use a dremel if you REALLY needed to.

hahahaha. no that was not me. But I have a buddy that lives out there that drives an s13 just like that. Ill be sure to warn his ass about blinding people though. Hes having the same problem I am. But yah i think a dremel and some brain work do it. As much as i dont want to i guess its my only option. And if all else fails C4

Just to let you know, there is nothing you can do to fix the problem.

Your headlight housings are doing what they were designed to do.

By putting hid's in those housing, it just intensifies light in places that it shouldn't be.

This is why people shouldn't put hid's in cars with halogen housings.

Ok. Well we all have our opinions, but the stock light was not cutting it for me. Especially for all the night driving I do. Ive had some real close calls due to lack of light. So I put in HIDs and so far its helped me out a lot.

You're blinding people because either your HIDs don't have a glare shield, or even worse your ghetto ziptie job is causing the bulb to bounce around inside your headlight housing.

The second problem is pretty bad and is not safe for you to do.

Especially with the visibility going down and the rain season approaching.

If you blind a driver that is in the oncoming traffic lane, you can very well cause them to crash into you, and you'll be liable for having illegal headlight modifications and blinding the other driver.

Think twice about what you're doing.

Do it somewhat right or don't do it at all.

Where in my statement did I give an OPINION? Everything I stated was a fact.

Whoever was driving on the freeway the other night only cared about themselves.

What did they get, a bunch of angry people.

Next thing you know, a cop is going to pull you over for your headlights and you're going to make a thread talking and bitching about how cops are pigs.

Why didn't you buy good quality oem replacement instead of hid's?

Some Cibe or hella housings and some silverstar bulbs or something.

You would have a nice light pattern as well as not blind anyone.

But instead, you decided to get hid's and a housing that sucks on it's own.

Not to mention when the fog rolls in it's going to be reflecting so much you'll just be blind yourself.

Ugh.

I hate people like this.

Glare/Casper shields do nothing to help with light going everywhere.

If you want better lighting, just buy some Cibies or Hella lights. Otherwise the only way you should get HID light is by retrofitting.

GO TO HIDPLANET's forums to see about retrofitting

Alright im not trying to stir up any bad blood. I understand that I have not done it right and that is why I am not driving my car on the road right now. I hate when it happens to me, so im not doing it to others. But I just wanted to know if there was any way to retrofit them. I got an awesome deal on these and didnt want to spend $$$ on Hellas, so im sticking with these. But thanks Propoganda for actually giving me some advice and a way to go.

I've always had HELLA or Bosch headlight housings, so I never really had a problem with blinding people.

Retrofitting isn't cheap, unfortunately :-/

You'd have to buy projectors which are expensive and then cut your housing to make them fit.

You're just supposed to use the bezels from the stock headlights, if they don't fit, then the problem is your housings.
What housings did you buy? I had a fitment problem with some cheap ones I bought a while ago, they were too big for the bezels and I had to make custom ones, but the light output from them was terrible anyway, so I got rid of them.
Buy some Hella, Cibie, Bosch, or Autopal housings, the lightning from them is great and they'll fit into the stock bezels without a problem.

HID's aren't as evil as everyone makes them out to be. The key is having decent housings and bulbs. For example I had Silverstar sealed beams before, and I would occasionally have people flash their brights at me at night. And before anyone says anything, yes they were aligned correctly. I've had HID's for a year now, I can see better, others can see me better, and I have yet to have someone flash their brights at me.
