View Full Version : Wastegate actuator for HKS GT2530

OK, so I finally got the GT2530 on my SR, and for temporary solution, I am using the stock S13 T25 wastegate actuator on it, but the actuator's rod had to be pulled back a bit to reach the wastegate flapper, and it's kind of pointing up at an angle.

Seeing that, I thought to myself, "well, I guess I need the stock T28 unit from the S14 or S15 turbos."

So I got a stock S15 wastegate actuator.

....aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it doesn't work either.

The wastegate bracket holes don't line up on the compressor housing (the T25 wastegate actuator bracket worked perfectly), and the actuator arm is still pointing up on an angle.

I've read some threads on here, during a search, that people have been using the HKS actuator on it, but did not specific which version (there's the S13 and S14/S15 versions, 2 different brackets I assume).

Only thing I can see that might work is to buy these:

Bracket:

Wastegate:

Anyone else here have any input other than to buy that setup? Seeing as that's $104, which is more than the HKS wastegate actuator, which is regarded as one of the best wastegate actuators you can buy for an internally gated turbo... or so it seems from what every post suggests.

OK, so... where did all the GT2530 owners go all of a sudden?

I know there were a couple of you on here not too long ago, what happened to you guys?

That might not work, as the GT2530's compressor housing is more like the T25's housing, in that the compressor outlet is not clocked, but points straight up, as well as the compressor inlet not being clocked like the S14/S15 turbos' compressor inlet.

Everything from the stock T25 can be used, I guess except for the wastegate actuator because last time I drove the car, I decided to give it a little throttle to see how far it will go, and before I know it, it shot up to 8psi, maybe heading for more, but I let off for fear of detonation with the stock 370cc injectors and stock MAF.

Again, the bracket needed on this turbo seems to be a T25 bracket, and then somehow, the actuator itself needs to have either a longish bent arm, or a Z arm like the actuator I linked to.

That is why I am wondering what the other GT2530 users are using for a WG actuator, because it just seems like HKS would have thought about the WG actuator issue before they cast that compressor housing, and if everything T25 was used, then they probably would have had the provisions for people to use the T25 WG actuator as well?

I just go a gt2530 and I'm having the same problem with the wastegate actuator. It really shouldn't be this difficult.

Can anyone Help, any advice?
