i have an s14 and im hearing a sound that sounds like a cricket chirping and i think i narrowed it down to the area where my right headlight is..
at first i thought it was my shock on that side because when i had my car parked and engine off i would hear the sound as i pressed down on the hood on that side, but i got my coilovers installed and i still get that sound.
when i have my engine on its like a constant FAST chirping sound, whatever it is its being caused by the engine vibration. does anybody have any idea what this is? i dont think its something that serious but its just annoying

if it's related to engine speed you might just have squeaky belts

tighten belts or lube them

check for wear

It's not going to be the belts. Maybe check all the headlight linkages and brackets if that is where the noise is coming from. There should be some sort of bushing inside the linkages.

if it's happening like when you hit a bump or something like that it may be one or more of your control arms.

My rear control arm broke last week and I got a new one and it doesn't make a squeaking noise that I had before. So I say do the cheapest solutions that you've heard so far and then if worse comes to worse it's a control arm and you spend a few bucks to maybe just get the bushing replaced.
