Anyone have or know where I can get a copy of the Pioneer->Nissan wiring diagram for head units? Having a weird electrical issue after swapping head units and I can't seem to find a copy anywhere online. If anyone knows where I can find it online that would be super. Scans will work too. =)

Pioneer uses the standard colors as all aftermarket units do, and the Nissan wiring codes are found within this site or the FSM pretty easily. I recall a few off the top of my head like the speaker colors but for the rest you'll need to look it up. I think the site www.the12volt.com has a good wiring diagram too for every make/model.

Yea, the colors seemed to match up pretty well. Thanks for the source, the same one (roughly) is in the FSM.
My issue is really random too. I literally swapped two Pioneer head units (same wiring harness) and all of a sudden the following is happening:
1. Gauge cluster clock will only stay on with the door closed. Opening the door kills the clock and resets it. Clock will not stay on when the car is off either (I don't think). After turning the car off, if I don't open the door, the clock fades out like it is gradually losing power. But all illumination on the cluster works fine, just not the actual clock display.
2. With the head unit plugged into the harness it "kinda" receives power. H/U flashes every couple seconds, but won't stay on. When this is happening, the "door open" light on the cluster fades in and out, reaching it's brightest point when the head unit lighting flashes.
3. Dome light may be out too. I have to verify this by changing the bulb since it does go out often enough that it the bulb could be dead.
4. Everything else works fine electrically.
I'm baffled. I've checked the fuse under the dash for the audio and it's fine. Only other fuse I can think of is on the H/U in the back and that one is fine too.

Check fuses under hood.

bad ground on new radio. seriously. take the black wire coming outta the pioneer and ground it directly to chassis metal or the bracket the radio bolts into, then bolt that whole radio/bracket assy into the car. the top 2 of the 4 bolts that hold the brackets in are the grounding ones..the bottoms dont make contact with chassis metal, they are threaded into metal surrounded with plastic. long story short, ground black wire to bracket, bolt bracket in using all 4 bolts, as the top ones are most crucial. also, and this should go without saying, use the bolts supplied with your pioneer to secure it to the oem radio brackets, creating a great ground path. failure to bolt it in can cause some funky shit to happen... seen it a few times. i have installed car audio professsionally for 4 years and now manage the shop, just to qualify my points.
also, could be a "half blown" fuse... aka one that still works partially, didnt totally "pop". replace the fuse in your kickpanel that says "room lamp" its either 5 or 10 amp... normal culprit for similar stuff on s13's. the dome lamp, radio, clock, and seatbelts all somehow tie into that one fuse. a prob with one of those items will cause a prob with all.
good luck

Thank you so much. Turned out to be that fuse, was the first thing I checked because I knew that it was grounded correctly. I knew I would eventually have to pull every fuse to check to be sure none were related. You rock.
PS - It's 10 amp.

sounds like you may have connected something to the illumination/dimmer by mistake chances are thats your problem
i would advise you to bite the bullet and take it to your local best buy, have them rewire it correctly. Don't be a cheap ass because you clearly have no idea what you are doing

No, I didn't accidentally connect something to the dimmer by mistake. I had no issues wiring the head unit the first time and it worked perfectly for a good two years. While a ground may have touched the positive cable accidentally it simply blew a fuse, that's why the the fuse is there. So before you open your mouth, don't. I wasn't aware that the radio was wired through the clock on the gauge cluster and the dome light when there is an 'audio' fuse. This issue was resolved and I should have locked the thread. Thanks for your useless input.
