Ok So I just put a new fuel pump in which smoothed out my engine and a new ignition coil. Anyway when I'm pulling it'll just drop off. It was doing this before the upgrades so it's gotta be something else. Like earlier today I was in second and accelerating and it just lost power at like 4500 and then popped back on at 2400. It also seems to loser power in 5th. Like steady driving on the highway in 5th and it'll start bogging randomly. Any idea what this could be? I was thinking maybe the 5th gear sensor is flipping out which I wanted to remove anyway to get rid of the speed limiter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a 90 Manual KA24E. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the throttle position sensor? I had a similar problem and turned out the TPS had come loose and was giving inaccurate readings.

I just replaced the tps sensor cause it was worse before I got a new one. Maybe it needs an adjustment or something? Or maybe it's an emissions equipment problem somewhere. I'm going to strip all that off to install my turbo so if that fixes it that'll be awesome.

check your mafs. it may be starting to go bad, friend had a problem with it not too long ago w/ the same motor. try getting some mass air flow sensor cleaner, pop it off and spray the hell out of it and see if that helps.... if not, youre only out 4$, lol.

Little Off topic. My guess was the MAF too. If I install a Q45 MAF, will an safc be able to tune that? Like if I set the Spark Plug Gap to .32 with boost will that be safe enough for 12psi on a t3/t4 hybrid turbo? or do I have to make an adjustment on the distributor timing or something?

ooo, i thought it was just an na ka... well, first off, im sure you know the world's views on safc's.... but if you insist to use it, try ka-t.org for info on the safc w. a Q mafs. off the top of my head, im not sure which input and output settings you need to have it on. also, you may want to de-gap the plugs to around .028-.30ish to help prevent spark from blowing out, and its better to have a boost dependant timing retard rather than set the distributor at idle....

It's not boosted yet. It will be in less than a month. i just wanna be a little safe on it. It's only an every day driver. if I have to I'll run at 7 til I get my sr20 built. I just didn't want to spend too much more money on at that's all so I have enough for my solid lifter sr build.
