Teens Injured In Accidental Car Explosion

LONGMONT - Three Longmont teens were injured in a car explosion near McIntosh Lake Friday. Investigators say fumes from air freshener cans the girls were huffing ignited when one of the three lit a cigarette.

The teens were transported to a local health facitilty to be treated for minor injuries. All three were released.

All three girls may be charged with inhaling a toxic fumes and one girl who is 18 yrs old may be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Their car sustained extensive damage from the blast and subsequent flash fire.

The Video footage is rawsome. All the plastic inside is shattered. The door latches are still latched on the frame. Doors ripped off and left them latched. Amazing how little flame damage there is.
