well this winter after school is over, im going to rebuild my ka-t. it has 120k+ motor is worn and im begin to see signs of low oil pressure/ coolent leak.
my goal after rebuild :450-500whp plan on running 20-25psi and meth.
turbo is a t4 62-1 .68 (67lb/min wheel)

setup:
arias 8.8:1 .20
carillo rods
chevelite bearings
arp main studs
arp 11mm head studs
cometic head gasket
knife edge polished crank
balanced assembly
bore & hone/ hot tank block
ams oil pump
ams timing chaing

head
port and polish
bc 264 cam
decked head

questions:
worth it to oring the block?

i want to do the valve springs, retainers, lifters ect and over sized valves but thats another $1000 which i cant afford right now, so do you think the 264 with a port and polish will flow enough or am i going to need the bigger valves? i was reading that the ka exhaust ports are restrictive where the two ports meet and need to be opend up but only with over sized valves can you make use of the larger openings..

well any criticism is welcome
wish me luck..

i suppose its all relative to what you want to do and what you can do. obviously money is an issue so you'll have to work around that. If you have the time to save up the capital to fund youre desired build, then just wait a little while longer. if you get 264's you'll get a little power gain, but you'll obviously get a little more with oversized valves etc etc. I mean every little thing counts when you want more and more horsepower.

its apparent that you know what you want to do and where your goals are. with everything you've listed it seems that you'll make youre mark or at least get very very close to it. ive seen stock rebuilt ka heads reach over 400+ hp.
