so i have an extra sr, and an opportunity to buy a caged fd at a very good price.
iv been searching around, rx7club, zilvia, and a few other places
there are people taliking about their swaps, but no one puts up info
so my question is, does anyone have any experience with the swap? or any links
i know i need;
motor mounts
tranny mount
drive shaft
what im wondering about is
the oil pan
steering rack mods needed
thank you for any and all help

If you have a good garage or shop and the necessary tools, you might not need any info. But it does help. Fab the motor mounts and make the tranny mount then measure and have a drive shaft made. Post pics of project if you get it going. I have been considering an FC project myself.

just get a s13 then..
i think the sr would be cooler in a 240z or even z32 300zx NA chassis
or stick another rotary into the fd..
I think its too much fabrication for soo little gain from what originally came in the fd.
sr is an awesome motor, but the rotary is just as awesome, probably cheaper to sell the sr and put another rotary in there.
You might find some info on sr powered fc, i think tony angelo used to have one?? should be simular mount setup i think

And they said it's better for power to Weight

I'd rather have a 22re than a fucking 13b in a fd.
So sr would be grand.
Not that hard either.

Do you know how much money that would cost?
Honestly.
Because that would be a horrible decision.

I can pick up ls1's around here by me for 1k (its the truck variance so you have to swap the camaro/firebird intake manifold on it) and anyone can get T56's for 1500 bucks.

im pretty sure that the ls1 your thinking off thats in trucks is actually a lt1 which has a cast iron block but im not 100% in that.

The main advantage with the Sr over the rotary is reliability in my opinion.
I hear a lot of people talk about LS1's but listen to someone who actually owns one and you'll get a much different story, not as cheap as people think.
I would blow up 10 rotaries before I ever put an LS1 into an FD.
