The oil restrictor I purchesed does not fit th threads on the turbo my question is would I be able to get a small enough washer to put in my existing fittings to drop the oil pressure a little bit if I matched the inside diameter of the restrictor I bought??

Dont ghetto rig your turbos oil system buy the right oil restrictor

If you have too much or too little that turbo will get destroyed

But its only a hole

its a precisely measured hole, designed to control the flow of oil to your turbo at a specific pressure.

i think you will have a harder time tryin to "make" it work. it will be easier/better just to source the correct fitting.

what turbo is it, im sure someone on here will know what fitting it is and where to source a restrictor

so as long as the orfice is the same size and oil can't go yhrough anywere else exept the hole I will get the pressure I need.

IIRC all GT series turbos use 7/16" inverted flare 24 pitch.

You post a thread asking if you can do something, people say no, and you tell them they are wrong.

It will work fine, i've done it a million times.

I didnt say they were wrong I just needed them to elaborate.

Sounds like a lot of work for a $30 part, but yes, a washer or anything placed in the flow with the same orifice diameter will give about the same pressure drop. This I'm 100% sure of.

you can make just get the correct hole size for the restrictor. if you have the raw materials and the right tools you can make it.

McMaster-Carr has cheap ones...well for 1/8 npt at least. But they carry everything.
