what's wrong w that?...now he has a civic w a motor that can easily handle 400 whp on stock internals no need to build the block...granted its still a fwd, but who cares? i mean he put his time/effort into it...just like the guy who dropped the SR into his FD...just cuz it's a honda u gonna bash it like that?

I'm not bashing it because its a honda, I'm bashing it because they're only doing it because it was mentioned in the F&F. Im all for custom work, and motor swaps, but putting a rwd engine in a front wheel drive car (let alone from another make of car) is going a bit far. Honda has some very good engines that can be built to handle as much horsepower, and probably could be swapped and built for cheaper than what they're doing.

My guess is it's a fwd sr20det (bluebird) engine. Otherwise they would have had some serious modificiations to do in getting a rwd SR to sit transversely in the engine bay while mating to a fwd friendly tranny and diff.

I can't say I would do it (wiring and mounting an engine never meant for the bay or the brand must be a b!tch) but I'm sure it will be fast if they pull it off.

i believe this was posted already on the off topic section
but to me.. there's nothing wrong if they do the swap
it'll cost them a lot though but what do i care

Look at the back of the motor, see the hole for the distributor-->>That is FWD sr. More props to him. If he is good a fabrication then it shouldent be that bad. Make some motor mounts, and know your wiring and they should be able to make it work.

I don't see where they mentioned that they got the idea from fast and the furious? The Ozzies pulled that swap off long before that stupid movie even came out.

I don't think anyone who gets "ideas" from fast and the fairiest anyways has the tuning capabilites to even perform that kind of swap.

I'm all for it, good swap!

Yeah I'm all about the crazy swaps. Like a big block in a Hyundai, or a V8 turbo deisel in a jetta. Wait that wouldn't work, but it would be sick. That civic is.... well it's gonna be pretty fast. With the power to weight ratio, it should run probably 12.5's or less. All depends what they are doing. I understand the thing about it being a nissan motor in a honda, but everyone does it now, so who cares?

I would like to see a big block civic.

Something like that just goes to show that with time, effort, and a good deal of patience, most anything is possible.

On top of that, it shows that nothing beats Nissan power!:D

Yes someone DID post this already.... But it will be funny when that person has a "Powered By Nissan" sticker on their car....

why why why? i don't see how this is a better option than tossing in a direct bolt in swap, the B18C5, a superior motor in many ways to the NA SR20DE.

because a b18c5...with its 195 hp and i think 128 tq or so...isn't worth the 5 g's just for the swap itself...and u can't crank up the boost on it...as a stock motor the sr20det has much more power potential...so i dont see why people are trippin...

Old news...

newsflash.......an SR (turbo) swap will cost you 5g's or more.......especially if it's a custom mounting job. and from what other people have said, i gather it to be a NA SR.....which, as i said before, is vastly inferior to the B18C5

Doesnt look like a NA Sr to me. Looks like a FWD DET. Its a good motor, so more power to him (pun intended).

bah.........so it is (i actually looked at it this time). i would still rather have the B18, and i think putting a nissan motor in a honda or what-have-you is just one of those things you just don't do.

same with small blocks in RX-7's, 240Z's, and so forth.

I wonder if it's an sr20de+t or an sr20det...

I think it's pretty cool, I like seeing unique things but I would have gone with the itr engine myself.

Prop to the fabricators of that swap... I would like to follow their progress.... The one swap that I think would hold a candle to that is the 3SGTE motor into a Gen3 camry...a dude I know on Toyota Nation did the swap and started at a good 13 1/4 with minor upgrades... in a frikin four-door camry.... whoda thunk-it?

For the non-Toyota followers, the 3SGTE is the MR2-Turbo motor.... pull both engeins, turn the 3SGTE around, custom fab
trans and your all ready to whop some ass....

Which 3SGTE? The JDM Gen3 3S puts down 245hp easily. Can get a 2 deep into the 12's really easily with that motor.
