where is it supposed to go?
everytime i see a pic of the SR motor, i see the BOV on the lower IC pipe, and all other cars its on the upper IC pipe (one that goes to the throttlebody)... why is this?

doesnt really matter as long as its before the turbo
as soon as the throttle plate closes, the air comes back, and that air hitting ur turbo, while the exhaust tries to make it spin the other way is what hurts it, as long as its before the turbo it shoudl be okay
and placed there.. it is probably less conspicuous and doesnt sound as loud .... *shrug* just a shot in the dark
but yea, as long as its before the turbo its ok

BOV's can be placed anywhere on the pressurized side of the turbo intake plumbing, as long as it's releasing the pressure before the compressor, then its all good.

The SR20 has a re circulating blow off valve, it does'nt blow the exess air into the atmosphere it blows it bask into the intake, I can't remember exactly were the BOV is located, I think right after the turbo on the intercooler piping?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

yea thats where it is, but i have seen HKS SS bov's with no tubes goin back, but they are still located right after the turbo on the upper IC pipe, thats why im confused, thanks CA18GUY...
Any one else know whats up with that?

The stock recirculating BOV lowers turbo lag between shifts. If you remove the recirculating BOV and just vent it to the atmosphere (so u get that cool BOV sound) you might throw off the MAF cause it is expecting that extra air to come back to it. Nothing that can't be fixed with a litlle tuning or a aftermarket ECU or just reset the ECU so it has to learn not to expect that air, it's not that big of a deal i think. Hope that was'nt to confusing

check this out CA18Guy, im gonna use the stock KA24E MAF, cause it is supposedly the same one, so then i think that the MAF wont expect the air to come back through cause of the KA being N/A... what do you think?

It's the same, you should always route the BOV vent back to the intake pipe behind the MAS. However, many elect to vent to the atmosphere for the blow off sound, won't hurt anything, just momentarily richness between shift or coming to a stop might stumble your RPM alittle or even stall in cold weather.
A common popular place is to put right on the compressor intake pipe because it's close to the MAS for vent re-circulation.
