Interesting. But there's nothing on that course that you can crash into.

that's the point.
this is the only kind of "drifting" i don't get mad about, and can appreciate to a very small degree.

Finally for you guys on dial-up.

I've gotten a lot of complaints about the music: my response..turn off your speakers.
The next time I make a video I'll just make it with just the regular sound. Maybe I'll put the music and sound 50/50. Whatever. Thanks for the complements/suggestions.

whats this, tnord is not thrown into a fit of rage by drift?:D
tight video....we cant let all the socal guys have all the fun...us midwest/east guys have to step up to the plate and set up some kind of a midwest drift event somewhere this summer.

Do you mean the kind of drifting that's done on a closed course or the kind of drifting that you won't crash into anything? Just wondering.

You'll get it. We have a big event coming up in february that'll feature some drifting and drags, but I'm just videotaping the drift event for my friends, so you'll get what you want.

both.........they basically go hand in hand.
you're not cool cause you do it on public streets or in the mountains where you can run into ****.
it's the people that throw me into a "fit of rage" when it comes to drifting, not necessarily the act itself. and no........we do NOT need an event in the midwest. if there is one, keep it the hell away from me.

Hey, well you should be glad to know that I don't do it on public roads and I am quite against it in fact.
However here in Hawaii, when we have our drift events at the track, there is sh*t that we can crash into such as tire barriers w/ concrete walls behind them, guard rails, and trash cans. Which is why I was suprised when I saw that video that they were running in a parking lot w/ cones as markers.
and everyone who likes to drift throws you into a "fit of rage?" I just don't get it, without a drift event, the only place that people who want to get into drifting can do it would be, well, in a public place. So technically a drift event would be good.
On a side note, I think there's a drift event coming up in April that is being held in Indiana.

exactly. believe it or not, i'd say over 80% of the people here do their "drifting" on the street.........which does **** me off. and even then, some of the people that do it on a track or other organized event then think it's the greatest thing in the world and they're the best driver and blah blah blah.........
like i said.........it's not so much the drifting that i hate (although i do think it's somewhat ghey), but the majority of people who do it.

Hahahaha, now we understand each other. And you know, I agree with you. I see alot of people (quite a bit) who think that organized events aren't for real and that to "keep it real" they have to prove something on the streets. But what scene doesn't have those people right?
Just have to take the bad with the good.

tnord, what do you like to do with your car? drag? show?!
tnord
01-31-2003, 10:08 AM
i really hate show cars........more than drifting. i don't enjoy drag racing, but i can understand the appeal of it. drag racing is a challenge for the engine builder, not the driver.
i enjoy track days and auto-x's (on a track, never done the cone thing before).
