Ok my spark plug hole is messed up a little bit at the bottom. I know I can just retap it. However, I can't figure out what size the thread is on the SOHC KA? I tried in Lowes and stuff but the spark plug is too big for any of the thread testers. Anyone know what size tap I need to fix the spark plug holes?

BTW Snap on has M10x1.00, M12x1.25, M14x1.25, M18x1.5 Spark Plug Taps.

Thanks in advance.

Ok the NGK Spark Plug for the KA is ZFR5E-11, well the ones I have but that's the basic. Anyone the NGK Part Number guide says that F (Metal Shell Size Code) stands for ø 14, 19mm (3/4”) Reach, 16mm (5/8”) Hex - does that mean it's 14mm and I'm guessing 1.25 pitch right?

The easiest way to do this is take a spark plug to a hardware shop, match it up with a nut, thread it on, see what thread that nut is, and then you will know what size tap to get.

In california, we have a lot of speciality hardware shops where I just go in there and these people are Thread masters, they can just look at it, and without thinking, give me what I need.

I have guys that can make me any custom nut or bolt that I want, cut the bolts down, Stainless, allen, hex, torx.

It's difficult to find ASE Metric UNI and hundreds of other ISO standard sizes.
There are hundreds of thread styles and my rule is, if you don't know,

Find one that fits well and use it. Just check the tolerances when you find the most suitable one.
