It works great and comes with all cables (power and a/v), two controllers (this system has the same plug as original controllers and gun), and 7 games. Those look like SNES controllers, are they universal controlls?

No, they came with the system. The top buttons are "turbo" (rappid shot) buttons. You can use original NES controllers on this system.
