Its like a beefier S14.... literally, heavier and more powerful stock engine with better brakes, VLSD and 5 lugs and a bit more cabin space.
But out of curiosity and sorry to thread jack, to the guy that drove an R32 and got pulled over, any issues?
Ive been dying to buy a skyline and the only way so far seems through Canada as there are a few to choose from.

Vehicle can be shipped anywhere but you will have to cover the costs of shipping obviously i can arrange for the shipping and help with the whole process now as for registering the vehicle , you will have to do this on your own. i will provide the required dowcument that you need to register the car . You will have to go to your local dmv and check out what you need to make this car legit there.
If you are serious pm me and we can discuss further.

you can not "legally" register any skyline in the US anymore. Sick deal on it, but no one here in the US will legally be able to get the car.

yes you can, you can register it as a dealer/show/race/promotional car...legally
if its already registered in the states then its legal to drive (R33 GTR is an exception)
but you can pull the VIN switch trick out of your ass, highly illegal though

well yes, you can register it as a show/race car and drive less than 2500 miles per year. and the vin switch thing will land you in jail if you ever get into an accident in it, believe me i went through a very long week of extensive research into the subject because i found a r33 gts25t here in philadelphia pa which was brought over and being sold for 8000. But its completely pointless to buy a car you can not drive. Pulling the vin switch will get you through local authority and can get you registered and insured, however when you insure the car and you sign the contract which says you are being truthful in all aspects of this car blah blah blah...and you get into an accident and it will be looked into. first thing thats gonna happen is your car is not going to be payed for, you are going to pay for the other persons car and you are going to jail/pay huge fines for insurance fraud. Believe me if you get into an accident the other person's insurance company will look into the issue, those bastards will look into anything to make it so they dont have to pay out. Now if you want to make a sweet show car have fun or if you dont mind the risk go for the vin swap, but i would say its not worth it.
the only legal "normal registered" skylines that will ever be here in the US are the r33's that motorex legalized and all the r32's and r34's they kinda sorta legalized that got through the system and are now grandfathered in...there are plenty of people saying they can get them into the US and im sure you can get it in, but you are not going to get it registered as a normal daily driving car...so nice sunday or track car for sure..
the other option is to get it register as a show car as disable the cluster so it doesn't register any miles, but that option is also illegal

So i found these forms that you would have to fill out for the "race car" importation.
FROM EPA !!
http://www.epa.gov/oms/imports/forms/3520-1.pdf
B. (4) Racing Vehicle
Not all vehicles used in races are excluded from emissions compliance. A racing vehicle exclusion is based on the capability of the vehicle to safely and practically be driven on streets and highways. Written EPA approval must be obtained before clearance at Customs.
Once a racing vehicle is imported, it is a violation of the Clean Air Act to register or license it for street use, or to convert it into a motor vehicle, unless it is first covered by an applicable EPA certificate of conformity.
The importer must file with Customs, upon entry, an EPA Form 3520-1, declare code "L" on that form, and attach the EPA letter of approval.
FROM DOT !!!
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/...hs799short.pdf (http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/hs799short.pdf)
* Those imported for testing, demonstration, or competition, provided they are not licensed for use, or driven on public roads. These vehicles may be operated on public roads or highways provided the operations are an integral part of the test. Parties responsible for such vehicles must submit proper documents - forms EPA 3520-1 and DOT HS-7 - to Customs at the time entry is made. Also, applicable written approvals from these agencies must be obtained in advance and presented to customs along with these forms. Remember, the cost to return vehicles that have been refused prior approval can be very high and must be borne by the vehicle owner(s).
I would just say call the us customs and ask them what to do .
And cookiejai where are you located ? if you are interested we can make arrangment to meet up or talk on the phone and discuse this further ... PM IS KEY
