I attended the D1 World All Star event at Irwindale last fall, and while I was there I saw 4 or 5 built drift cars for sale on a trailer in the exhibitors area. The seller had business cards and all, so I assume it was a legit business, but I can't find a listing or any posts about it. Anyone have any info about the company, or any other? Looking for a high quality drift-ready 240sx, and they seemed to have a few available.

If you want a built car you can talk to me about it. I have built and sold them in them past. As of late built cars have not been selling.
Though if you really want one, I have chassis's suspension and a few engines sitting around. KA, SR? , Ruca's, coilovers, I can put it together for you. I am known for selling nice cars too.
Oh and I am completely independent of any particular company. I am my own entity solely and entirely.

I'm assuming you want one b/c you'll be competing in some sort of a drift series, right?

Dave is legit guys. If you buy his cars you are getting my work. Most people here know that I don't fuck around when it comes to putting cars together.

alot of people talk bad about them without even knowing them.. What they sell are cars that are kitted , rims, and painted.. Some with minor upgrades.. But what do you expect? these cars are over 15+ years old, of course there is gonna be some weird shit on them. The people who have wrote stuff about them on these forums about buying a car from them, usually its their first car and dont know what to expect etc
theres another place sellin drift cars lol

I can vouch for this. Aron has done almost all the aftermarket work on my car. He does fantastic work. Ask him about my power brace install. He kicked ass.

I never understood buying someone else's project. Nicely done or not, you never know what other people do to their cars. There's nothing worse than finding some weird wiring or having to track down a noise in a car that's been gutted, raped, and put back together. Half these kids can't even fix problems with bone stock cars when the FSM has all the details to do so, why would they think a modded to fuck car would be any easier? Oh right, it's 'cool'.
building is the way to go. make sure it done the way you want it and you dont have to worry about shotty work.

The best way to make money off 240's right now is to pick-up modded SR cars and part them out. Nobody seems to want SR cars right now and the prices are ridiculously cheap!

dont waste ur money on proto. unless you want to have to rebuild your motor after a month down the road. nothing but garbage cars. they only hold together for 4 weeks. ya definitly sticky proto motoring as a bunch of rip off scum bags

Thanks for all the replies! I didn't think this thread would get so much attention, apparently this Proto Motoring isn't what I expected!
I wanted to find a semi-built S13 that I could finish on my own. All the S13s up here in Canada are either rusted all to hell or are already fully built and the sellers want a fortune for them despite having hit the wall a dozen times. They seem to be relatively cheap in the U.S., even with some decent mods, and are really straight rust-free cars.
I remembered seeing that trailer at D1 (yes, that pic blackrms13 posted is exactly what I was talking about) and thought it might be a good place to start.
I started drifting in a bone stock HCR32 coupe and traded it for a nicely modded 4dr HCR32 a couple of years ago, but I couldn't get comfortable enough shifting with my left hand to compete with it, so I moved on to an American car for the 08 season. I was thinking about getting an S13 and dropping in an LS2... the power to weight ratio is very tempting and could be super competitive.
Thanks for the replies, at least I know to stay away from those guys and this site has an awful lot of potential cars for sale that I can search through.
