EDIT: CAR IS SOLD. Thank you for your interest.
EDIT: Current high offer is $2500. Please email me at zippycut (at) gmail.com to schedule a time to come check everything out. If you have cash in hand, that's highly appreciated, and again, I need this stuff gone. The best offer I get in cash by Friday, October 17th by someone who can pick everything up by this weekend takes it. However, If you show up with a truck that can tow/haul everything and $3000+ in cash, you will have everything regardless of other offers. This DOES include the original SR tranny. Like I said, barring some smaller parts, pretty much everything you need (in my inexperienced opinion) is here)
Hello-
[Much of this is crossposted from my craigslist posting, so I apologize in advance if your response to many of these points is "no ****, I know that already," the craigslist post is obviously for a far less specific audience]
It is with great regret that I am offering my 1995 240SX and all its SR20DET related parts for sale. This car is a rolling chassis with tons of parts, many brand new, perfect for a mechanically minded person to put together a great swapped car.
Backstory
I purchased this '95 S14 240SX from a Marine in Florida in the summer of 2004 with 107,000 miles on it. It was in very good condition overall except for the driver's side power window switch working intermittently. Between that summer and when I prepped it for the swap I only drove it during the summer months, as I was attending school at Syracuse University in upstate New York. RWD + Metric Craptons of snow = bad news, not to mention the salt damage, so I left it at my parents house in Princeton while at school. (My father drove it occasionally).
Between Summer '04 and Fall '07, I put ~28k miles on it, so the chassis currently has ~135k miles. That fall, I finally gave in and decided I would do the ever-popular SR20DET swap for more power. However, I did not have much mechanical experience other than basic things like spark plugs/alternator, etc, so I intended to have a shop perform the swap for me.
However, two coworkers--I worked at PepBoys in sales, they were mechanics--convinced me that I could do it with their help, so we removed the KA24 and started to prep the SR20DET, which I had purchased from the reputable shop, OsakaJDMMotors in Canada. At this point I realized
that it was impossible for our schedules to line up, preventing us from working on the car together. I took the chassis and all parts to my home shortly after the KA was pulled.
Current Story:
I have not been able to get anything done, because I am afraid of messing it up. This car needs a better home, with someone who can assemble and take care of it. I now need to get rid of everything due to my parents' wishes, so EVERYTHING NEEDS TO GO.
Someone who is mechanically inclined will make a KILLING on this deal, with nearly everything needed for an S14 with S13 Redtop swap, most parts of which are still in their original boxes. Even if you buy everything and decide part it out, you will easily triple your money at the very least, but I simply don't have time---read: my parents want it gone yesterday---to do so myself.
Body
The car is a 1995 Base model 240SX.
The paint is in fair to decent condition:
Doors: very good condition, except for a couple dime- sized chips on the very edge of the driver's side door.
Roof: almost perfect.
Front quarter panels: fairly good, except for the tops next to the hood, which are oil stained.
Front Bumper: pretty scratched up.
Hood: fairly good condition, one dent near the windshield [my father dropped a wrench on it from about 10 feet :(], several scratches near the grille.
rear quarter panels: very good condition
trunk/bumper: top of trunk is excellent, the back is fairly stained and scratched [the KA was running very rich, so some exhaust stains]
Chassis
The car has the following already installed:
Whiteline lowering springs
Tokico Blue shocks
PDM-Racing SPL aluminum rear subframe spacers [to fix the very common issue with rear subframe bushings]
The chassis is in good condition, and drove very well prior the swap.
17" Buddy Club Racing P2 Wheels in Gunmetal (pretty bad curb rash)
INCLUDED PARTS/SR20DET ENGINE
* Osaka JDM Motors Redtop S13 SR20DET [painted blue by my mechanic friends, since scratched a bit in transporting the motor]. The alternator and starter are off the motor--for testing, they passed--but will be included. The motor has ~60k miles. It has not been dissembled or taken apart since I got it from Osaka JDM other than to put new valve cover gaskets, spark plug 0-rings and paint the valve cover, and inspect the injectors. Osaka JDM appears to have replaced the water pump themselves, but I pulled it off and replaced the water pump gasket anyway. One of my mechanic coworkers broke two of the injector clips [he's a dumbass. :( He didn't get to touch much else after that.]
* Greddy 3" Downpipe (still in wrapping)
* Exedy Stage 1 Clutch Kit (still in box)
* Brand New NISMO Motor Mounts (mounted on SR20)
* NISMO subframe bushings (still in box, I felt I didn't need to install them as the
subframe spacers work great)
* Fidanza lightweight flywheel (still in box)
* ebay Front Mount Intercooler kit with all piping (still in box)
* S13 MAF
* VG30DE N60 MAF from a 1993 J30 with harness (For future upgrading)
* Brand new serpentine belts
* Heavy Throttle (srswap.com) heater core crossover kit (for easy connection from S14 heater
core to S13 SR) (still in box)
* Heavy Throttle AIV Plug Kit (to eliminate unnecessary bung in downpipe connector)
* Heavy Throttle Radiator Hose/Crossover Kit (to use KA radiator with SR20DET, still in box)
* Electric Fan and Fan Controller (still in box)
* BRAND NEW S13 SR20DET HARNESS w/ SR20DET ECU
* COMPLETE S14 harness from car.
* Megan Racing front strut tower brace
* Manual boost controller (still in box)
* 300ZX fuel filter (still in box)
* Q45 ignitor with harnesses
* Walbro upgraded fuel pump (still in box)
* eBay straight-pipe cat replacement (2.5")
* custom 2.5" exhaust w/Magnaflow muffler from local exhaust shop. (sounded great on KA,
very deep with no buzz or drone. you'll probably want a 3" on the SR though)
* All critical fasteners for the drivetrain are together in labeled bags:
flywheel bolts
clutch bolts
transmission bolts
transmission mounts
* All other fasteners (and many extra ones from KA motor) are in organized boxes
* R200 LSD from Infinti J30 (in shipping container. you will need 5-star half-shafts)
* Complete Energy Suspensions Polyurethane Bushing Kit
* Wagner Thermoquiet brakepads (still in box)
* Radiator/Power Steering Hoses
The original KA radiator is included, but is not in great condition. The car includes an Alpine CDA-9804 headunit with Inifity Reference speakers all around.
The ONLY things you'd need for a great complete swap would be:
vacuum tubing
fuel line
air filter/intake for turbo
confidence of mechanical ability.
willingness to go without A/C (the A/C condenser and parts have been stripped from the car)
(You wouldn't HAVE to replace the radiator, but I'd recommend it.)
This car is not in perfect condition, but it is in fairly good condition. For not much money, as long as you have some mechanical experience, you can have a great SR20-swapped S14 240sx. (I suspect if you're reading this, you know all about the car/engine/etc, and there's a VERY good chance you're way more confident about working on them than I am, haha)
Again, you could very easily part this stuff out and make 3 times your money. I just don't have the time. I am NOT willing to part stuff out at this time, and would GREATLY prefer the car go to someone planning on completing the swap. I just wish I had the ability to complete the swap myself. :(
If I can find a shop who can finish the swap for me at a decent price before it sells, that is what I will do, so I can keep the car.
I think the images at 1024x768 are too large for this forum, so they're all at
