Hey im considering moving down to California but one of my main concerns is my car. (Alot of hte members/guests lcated in california)
Weve had a small string of 240sx thefts in the northwest (its calmed down) and i was wondering if there was any place that might be better than the rest for rate of car thefts.

i havent decided but this is a big part of my decision, and i have door locks...thats it. oh and a quick release. it had kill switched but the guy i bought the car from took them out...not sure why. they would be nice though

Very true. Irvine is a pretty nice place. Well kept up. Now if you're moving to like Santa Ana, or Anacrime you might have a problem.

anacrime rofl. i was looking for some place in the middle. something thats not super pricey, but not a high theft rate city. i was looking in fresno, and outside of LA. maybe sacremento too

one of my 240s got stolen from in front of my house.
another one got stolen by the city becuase i hadnt moved it from in front of my house! (it was a junker anyway so i let them keep it)

i keep my new 240sx locked up TIGHT in my garage now. and i dont take it anywhere. who the hell would want to steal my 98 ford windstar dd? NO ONE.

Fresno is pretty expensive. Just as expensive if not a bit more than here in the OC. Pretty high crime rate as well lol!

u can live in cities like aptos and stuff
u got the beahes right there
monterey is a bout 1 hr south
sf is like..what 2or so hours away? and u take hwy 17 (twisties) to get over the hill

amazing weather, great food, unforutnately: HIPPIES, but u are probalby used to that in WA anyways.
and um...yeah. i love it there
my parents live there, i was born there, 15 years lived there. and most summers at the beach.
i just love that place.

hm well this gives me something to think about. ill probably end up getting something with a garage. im really hoping to get into a rental house with some friends (preferably with two garage space) but ill most likely end up settling with an apt with a garage

besides what dousan said about it the place stinks
literally it smells horrible
the a.v. aint bad on the west side but it is the desert
so if you can handle extreme weather changes its nice
plus willow springs is like 15 min. away and thats the home of all star bash
and most of L.A. is within 2 hours of here
if you are in the aerospace industry we have boeing, lockheed, and northrop also

Man you're going to get jacked wherever. Location is nothing and everything. Basically it comes down to if your car gets jacked, you need to ask yourself were you prepared and precautious? If not then, thats what happens. Just be smart and invest in some security. Protect your affliction err 240

Go where I live theres almost nobody that knows about 240sx's up here its a shame. We always leave our s13's and s14's unlocked. There was a theft at my house they searched all the cars but the s13's and s14's go figure.

Thats because they cant put parts from a 240 on an integra! if he was in fullerton that shit would get stolen no problemo lol

Pasadena/Arcadia area Use to be safe from getting nissans stolen but now It's gotten bad. I myself had a s13 stolen from me. Funny thing about that.. My Personal s13 that nobody Is allowed to drive, I can't lock the doors cause I don't have the key. So where ever I went my doors were ALWAYS open. never messed with that car. My other s13 that I can lock the doors on gets stolen. Go figure.

Anyways.. Hope you find a nice city In cali to stay In.. Sierra madre Is REALLY REALLY safe.. And It's not far away from any city life.. Its where I live now. Kinda gotta be ballin though.. The crime rate up here Is stupid low
