A/C removal sr20

I am about to go take out my a/c but I am not sure if the system is charged or not. It doesnt blow cold and It is jdm and I heard they discharge it when they bring it over seas so Im thinking it isn't charged. But what would happen if it was charged and I went to take it off?

It would make this really loud POP noise lol with a tssssssssss following after. Just unscrew the little green cap i believe it is, and push down on the pin to release anything that is in there. Shouldnt be much if there is. It's exactly like letting air out of a tire.

I have 9850 posts. Out of those maybe 500-600 are bashing people. The rest are clear, concise, legible answers to help others. The difference is I help those who need it, who can understand it, and who can clearly word a question and have researched it beforehand.

Kids like you who ask a question with a shred of proper grammar, capitalization, or punctuation because you're too lazy don't get helped. Simple. Our atmosphere is bad enough as it is.

Its also illegal and you can be fined/sent to jail if caught doing so.

I'm CFC Certified and they told us that if we catch some one knowing releaseing Feron in to the atomoshere if we turn them in we get $10,000

So watch your back if I see you do it, I'll turn your asses in in a heartbeat.

Thank you for your useless contribution to this thread, let me add to it by saying that I'm sure there are things done to your car that are not environment friendly themselves. Therefore adding a hypocritical response in such a thread is almost half retarded. Please refrain from posting unless it has to do with the question at hand.

I will also add on that you should be able to hook up a psi guage to the high pressure side of the pipes to see if you have any pressure inside of the lines and if so then to just let the air out using the little valve on the hp line. Just like letting air out of a tire.

Im a Mechanic for the Air Force All I do is repair engines, Hydralics, A/C, Generators, Turbine Engines...ect

I personally Pulled my SR20 from my 180SX in Okinawa broke it down to the crank, mailed it home, and Built it up.

So dont tell me I should get dirty.
So go back to your boy friend and work on him.

I took a long flat head and pressed the valve and let the freon out and it was fine. And i'm sure the atmosphere will be fine too.
