I just got a great job. I go down for my interview and I see one of the most ghetto places I have been . I was parking my car for the god damn $5.00 fee and I looked at the guy who was handing out the tickets and first comes to my mind is that this guy looks shady as hell and so does every person here (not to be racist or anything in that area). Sure my car is stock at the moment but seeing that I have bought a highly considerable amount in parts and more coming pretty soon, my sweet baby hatch is going to be a target. I have been hearing about too many cars being stolen, friends even geting hurt in the process, there is no way in fucken hell I am going to let some crack head or some stupid ass kid steal my hard earned work, and money.

I want to know what I can do for security (all out), I want to hear form you guys on how you gotten in the same or worst situation, I want to stop it before it happens and I am even considering on holding off on installing all the parts. Tell me everything I can do, what not to do, and your stories.

I've got a quick release steering wheel, fuel pump cut off switch, alarm, and I cover my radio (just to ward off the people who dont know what they are looking at). The only way someone can steal my car is to tow it away, but there isnt anything you can really do about that, unless you get a lowjack.

buy a shitty beater for $1000

alarms in a bad area are pointless these days no one even pays attention to them

I would second this comment. No sense even taking the risk with your car.

^ that's exactly what i was thinking....your best bet is just go get yourself a beater. No matter how much you do to protect your car, if they want it, they are going to get it. Your money is best spent if you get a beater.

If you cant afford a beater. Your next option is to buy a bus pass. GL with that in LA

pretty smart of you actually posting about thinking your car is going to get jacked (im being sarcastic), and then say where you park, and what security devices we reccomend to use so EVERYONE will know what types of kill switches you got, and what not. just might want to go silent about this, because not everyone who gets on zilvia or any other car site are here to help you, why do you think they got certain sections on forums where you have to have a certain amount of posts to view? some members journals forums for example. they set them at such high posts before you can view so thieves cant just scope out parts.

I have a Ravelco anti-theft device. It's a plug that's wired through the starter, fuel pump, etc. Anything the car needs to run / be started. It cost me around $400 installed. The harness that goes into the engine bay is very very hard to notice, the installer did a fantastic job of hiding the wiring into the factory harness.

At first, it did bother me plugging this in and out everytime I got in / out of the car but you get used to it. I don't notice putting it anymore.

Check it out:

Here's a few pics of what it looks like installed in my car:

ghetto lowjack incase it does get stolen. Ive got that club type thing that I put on the clutch pedal and a few other goodies. A quick release steering wheel is helpful. You can convert your radio into those old school "pull-out" radios....lol. <--- We used to rock those pull out radios like a fashion trend. Goodluck man.

get a welded diff, a fuel pump kill switch, a good alarm that shows you everything on your reciever, and reason i say welded diff is cause when you park, turn the wheel all the way left or right, and lock it at full lock. with a welded and not cranked up, that car aint going now where.

Please shut up. Tell me oh-wise-one, what exactly did he do to compromise the security of his car? All he showed you was a pic of the plug and the socket, now tell me, just by seeing that, how to steal his car. If you don't know what u'r talking about don't post. Whats even worse it that there's a link to the product website that explains everything, that your ignorant-self needs to know.

lojack with early warning

one thing you should do is always keep valuables away from sight.. remove cd decks for sure

If you are paying someone for a space to park your car they should have security

ok before the thread gets closed, what are the chances of some one jacking my gauges, boost controller, FI electronics, stuff with in that area. will some one just actually rip that shit and hope to reinstall it?

Get rid of that Ravelco ASAP. Its bypassed in 13 seconds avg. Its worse than a kill switch.

Don't take this the wrong way; but if you're going to post something like that post some proof behind it.

WTF are you talking about? You seriously need to post proof because I've heard the complete opposite of that from people that own the system.

Exactly. I own the system - if each every plug they wire has a different pin out, and each wire going through the system is the same color (inside of an armored wiring harness to top it off!) proof needs to be posted that it's beatable. Especially in that time frame Bigskye posted.

Does his name not say it all? Bigsyke? SYKE! You'll be sitting in front of the ravelco for AT LEAST half an hour if not much longer. 13 seconds my ass!

gauges are just like a deck, sub, and speakers. there just another thing to make a thief want your car. hold off on buyin parts for a sec and get a DD. if u have no choice but to drive it daily then dont draw extra attention to it(loud music, bodykits, revin so ppl hear your blowoff)
*alarms are only good if u can hear them OR 2way and you can get to your car
*most ppl buy the same quick release
