Hey guys, name's Ryan, i don't post too much, but i've been on here for a long time. Well idk if there's already been a thread covering this topic, but please sign this petition to save the internet! The Government is going to start charging per website you visit monthly, no one wants to pay for that, we already have enough to pay for in our daily lives! Read the website link for more info. Please help save the internet!

While I believe we need net neutrality as well, I think you need to read up yourself on what net neutrality is.

It has nothing to do with the government charging you for websites you visit. It doesn't have anything to do with the government charging you at all. It has to do with ISP's throttling your bandwidth for websites they choose are either hazardous (BitTorrent tracker hosting sites, bittorrent DL's, porn, etc) or it could go as far as websites receiving priority speeds for paying the ISP's while their competitors get slowed down. For example, if this got really bad (I dont't think it will get this far...) some people say that, for example, sites like Microsoft Live Search would be able to pay an ISP for priority and all requests to other search engines like Google, Yahoo Search, etc, would be slowed down because you chose a competitor to Microsoft.

From the website you posted: "Net Neutrality prevents Internet providers from blocking, speeding up or slowing down Web content based on its source, ownership or destination."

yea sorry about that, but about the charging part, that was something that my teacher in polisci class was saying that they could end up getting to, or a point that they could end up getting to. kind of like cable television, how they charge for certain channels, you know? i just wanted to point out what details I knew, or discussed with other ppl, that weren't listed on that website that i posted. Just taking everything into consideration, as we can never be to careful on stuff like this.
