1993 240sx: one turn of tie rod changes front toe by how much?

I'm going to adjust my alignment and would like an idea of how much the toe changes in mm or inches with each revolution of the tie rod end? I understand that the tie rods have to remain the same length on each side of vehicle. thanks.

Kinda hard to say because not everyone is running the same exact kind.
I wouldnt mess with the toe yourself unless the alignment is really bad.

If you are gonna do it yourself... look up diy alignment.

Here's how i did it though...
Not the most accurate but held me over until I got an alignment.

1.Tie string to 2 jack stands and make sure they are the same height.
2.Set jack stands at a set distance away from the car.
3.Measure to make sure the distance is the same at 3 or more different fixed points of the car.
[front of door, rear of door, rear quarter, etc]
4.Take big flat piece of wood and put it flat against the front wheel.
5.Measure the distance from the front of the wheel to the string. Repeat with rear of the wheel.
6.Adjust accordingly.
7.Measure again and adjust until front number and rear number are the same.

Repeat on the other side.

Your wheels will now point in the same direction.
If you gave one side too much or not enough... the car will start to pull towards the side.

Thanks. that is how I measure toe. My toe on one tire is pointing out by 5mm. the other is basically neutral. if I move that side in 5 mm , i assume i have to move the other side in 5 mm since i have to keep tie rod lengths the same on each side?

i'm not convinced that the shop can be more accurate than me. there is a range that is accepable so hope to fall in that range. i dont see anyone checking up on these alignment shops for accuracy. thanks for your help.

after my shocks the opposite wheel is toe out now.

noticed that camber changes alot if you are parked on a slight slope. a .5 inch drop over width of car, changed the camber by 15 mm.

dude i do alignments at work and theres a sensors/computer that measures the toe for u. how can they not be more accurate than you?

same, i dont think i would do it without a machine to if i was trying to be exact. If i had just changed everything and needed a base alignment for the time being.... maybe, but i would probably just wait to go to work the next day to do it.

i really doubt toe changes linearly with tie rod length.

if anything it'd be some kind of sine/cosine/tangent function.
