So I plan to get rear S13 coilovers off of craigslist. The problem is one is missing a top hat. I asked the guy on what I can do about it. He said that I can just use one of my top hats from my stock suspension and it should work. Is the information that he gave me legit? Well let me know zilvia. I would highly appreciate it a lot. An "FYI" they are rear GP Sport GR-6 Coilover (black/purple/white ones)....to be precise! Well, LMK....thanks!!!:aw:

They should work, but its probably not the best idea to keep using the stock mounts. The stock mounts are made of hard rubber and don't give the strut as much movement as a pillow ball mount. You might want to look into some rear pillow ball mounts (possibly Tein or HKS?)

Completely incorrect. The rear OE upper mount is steel. It does use a rubber bushing in the center and a rubber insulator below, but is it not a big chunk of rubber like the front.
The problem is the coilover pillow ball mounts are thinner and fixed to the shaft with a spacer, some coilovers are designed to use that exact that type of setup only. The old Apex'i WS Coilovers worked with OE mounts, but not a lot of others do. You'll have to see what you're working with and go from there.

Ah sorry about that, I took another look at the mount itself and it is just rubber sandwiched between steel. Thanks for pointing it out so quickly! Like projectRDM said, the OEM may or may not work. As for pillow ball mounts, you might want to ask a friend to borrow the rear set just to test fit. My rear pillow ball mounts were significantly shorter than stock.
