I just picked up a set of 17X7 G35 offset 45 wheels to put on my s14. What i am thinking of doing is putting a wider tire on the back. i was thinking 225 45 in front and 245 40 in back. the circumferences are about the same so i think that would be ok. I have Stance coilovers and i dont have rolled or pulled fenders. My question is will they fit and how do i measure to see the widest tire i can fit? I was thinking of putting the rim on and measuring the clearance from inner lip to coilover and outer lip to fender but how much does the tire overhang the wheel if all?

G35 wheels shouldn't be a +45 offset, you sure that's right? If so, they won't fit period, the fronts will hit the coilovers.

You might want to get some 5mm spacers ?? Depending on how big of a tire.
I have ran 245/45/17 on 17x8 Z33 wheels no spacer and it has plenty of room.
I also have run 18x9 GCP wheels with 245/45/18 with no problems as well. (Those are my wheels/tires for my drift set-up.) I daily on 19x9 GCP wheels with 245/45/19 and no rubbing at all on stk fenders. Good Luck Hope that helps

It looks as though i am going to need some spacers for the front of prolly 6 mm to offset the wheel. Will i need new wheel studs?

5mm is generally accepted as safe, so 6mm isn't pushing your luck much farther.

put the lug nut on. it should spin at least three full turns to even be comfortable with it.

i'd say put the wheels on, and when you bolt em up, make your decision right there. if you don't feel comfortable with it, grab the extended studs.
