Ive seen a few hydraulic ebrake setups from the likes of CNC and KSport and was wondering if anyone was really using it for and ebrake (parking over night on a hill)?

From what i can tell all the kits use nothing more than a remote reservoir master cylinder plumbed inline with the rear brake line and some fancy bracket. When i looked some up i found willwood makes the MC for like $70. So if they can hold tight that might be a way cheaper way to go that the ~$150 most places charge.

i wouldnt... I mean, with a regular e-brake, there is no hydraulic pressure, its just pull the line, clamp it down. All mechanical. Theres not much that can go wrong. With a hydraulic setup, what happens if you spring a leak, or break a line? they are for motorsports, not so much paking your car overnight.

if you got the MC, you would still need to make a bracket, handle, pivot etc...

im using a k sport one which has a locking pin to hold lever in the down position.
as far as the other ones I have seen, they do not lock in place.

i think k sports hydrlic ebrake has the ability to stay up like the stock one.

well what i was thinking of doing is modding the stock handle to attach the push rod. im just curious to know if anyone knows of one that failed. Alot of HE use hydro ebrakes, so as long as your not leaking, i think it should work fine.

You can always leave your car in gear for extra security.

My friend drove around for two years with broken e-brake cables and never had a problem.

the whole "leave it in gear" is still kinda risky. with a decent size hill you will still roll

I lived in SF and drove a 69 BMW with no functioning ebrake.

Leaving it in gear doesn't mean shit if the eventual pressure pops it out.

All you need to do is park next to the curb, turn your wheels all the way and roll back till you curb front tires hard.

Did that for years, no static at all. Your results may vary.

People with turbo timers can't leave their cars in gear (car is still on!)

I would be interested with a hydraulic E-brake if there was something cleaner than a huge lever. Would be great for people with z32 rear calipers with no e-brake function.

Me being one of them lol.

I guess if you're that worried about it, then stick with the ole' faithful cable e-brake.
