eBay LCA's: DETAIL SHOTS - draw your conclusion

These are copies of the Ikeya Formula LCA's. Also sold in the color blue under the Megan Racing label. These gold ones are sold under the TC Sportline label. I would say they are made by the same manufacturer. I was hoping someone with Ikeya Formula LCA's could chime in and post their detail shots for comparison.

The heim links where a stock ball joint would go are very stiff. I can barely move them with my hands. I will likely take them all apart and grease them up since they aren't very well lubricated from the factory.

The rest of my suspension arms are all Cusco. The heim links on those look better than the ones on here. I would have gotten Cusco LCA's if they existed.

I tried to get shots of the welds, hardware, and heim joints for your inspection. If you'd like to see anything, ask.

Oh and they were packaged poorly; there are three deep scratches from them touching in the box.

Here is a website with the real Ikeya Formula LCA's with some detail shots. Upon closer inspection of the shots on this site, I would say that the heim links on the real Ikeya Formula LCA's are of better quality. The arm itself though looks identical to the eBay LCA's down to the welds.

Battleversion does NOT manufacture and sell lower control arms. I KNOW, I talked to Alex from battle version about it.

As for the OP's question, you can train a fucking monkey to weld two pieces of metal together good enough to not fall apart. As long as the welds look good they probably won't break there. You should however source all new bearings for them. The bearings in those arms are cheap as hell and will wear out extremely quickly. If you slap some new spherical bearings and heim joints in those they will work fine almost certainly.

eww...undercut. the welds are horrible. id strip them down and reweld them. let me know how the heims are after you grease them up because it the joints are good and welds can be reenforced. why not. grant it they are still fake parts.

The balljoints do not work. They are stiff and bind. They are heavy as hell. Why not just buy the real thing? I'm sure the real ones are just as heavy though.

They may seem heavy but are actually only 0.5lbs more than stock LCA's well at least for the rears. I haven't weighed the fronts.

They look pretty cheaply finished, how much did they run you?
As has been recommended, I'd at least replace the bearings with good ones.

I am gonna concur on the undercuts in the welding. In destructive testing undercut welds fail much faster than welds done correctly. The other thing that I noticed is where the arm conects to the heim/ ball joint for the front LCA the tubing is pinched more. Most noticable in this pic

That being said I still think they will be as strong as OEM if not stronger.

Thanks for all the feedback. This will help me improve the LCA's while spreading useful knowledge for the community.

They were about $330 a set. Even though these are knockoffs and are of questionable quality, I am still happy with them for the price. The SPL/Nagisa Auto LCA's and the Ikeya Formula LCA's are just too much.

Yeah Cusco ate up all my money, but like I explained above, it is probably more economical to get these and improve upon these and still save money over buying the real ones.
